I got the adapter for the ProFlex so I can use it on my Raptor. Unfortunately the ProFlex won't fit the adaptr -I should say that the ProFlex fits my Stratus clutch shaft perfectly, doh. That makes me think that the adapter is the problem here. This is the adapter I'm talking about:

I do not want to force it to get in and damage the bearing when doing it. Should I just send it back and get a new adapter? Sand paper might do the the trick I just do not know if I should use it on the adapter?

maybe a couple of picture will help

I think those adapters are for a 5mm start shaft so if you have a V-1 Raptor it should fit but, a V-2 already has a 6mm start shaft so the adapter being machined 5mm it's too small. What you need is another Tempest (joke). I only fly heli's that I can use my Proflex on (another joke).

I use the same adapter you posted on your link, it's a 6mm to 6mm adapter. It works perfect on my Rapter 50 V2 and I also use the Proflex on my Fury Extreme.

Take Care,

I read my first post and maybe I did not explain my problem properly.

Tha adapter fits the Raptor shaft ok, that's fine. What I found is that the proflex does not fit the adapter.

My ProFlex is the new re-designed one with the bushes and stuff. I'm not sure but that might be the problem.

Mike

I have Raptor 50V2 which has a 6mm shaft. I had to get the adapter because the shaft has a CNC flat, meaning I can not use the ProFlex on this shaft and that's why I got the 6mm-6mm adapter -I'm super pissed because this little thing did not fit tyhe ProFlex.

Anyways, yes mate, after building the Stratus I might move completely to MA -such a great machine, kinda expensive, doh.

Then I'll be only flying helis that I can use my ProFlex on without any adapter or anything.

Find a way to measure the adapter shaft, if it is oversize send it back. It should measure .236. I have used a screw type clamp in situations where I did not have the correct tool, set it so it just slides over the shaft, then try the other one in question. If you think it is the same size, does the adapter shaft have a chamfer on the top? Chris

Sounds like your adapter is not machined right. I would send it back and ask for a new one. I use the same adapter and the new style Proflex and it fits fine. I ordered my adapter and Proflex from Rick's.

I just measured my adapter shaft and it was also .236 or 6mm. I would measure yours and see if it is the correct size.

Oversized adapter

Yes, it is just a little bit bigger than it supposed to be. I'll call Rick's and see what they have to say about it.

Vince,

You maybe right (completely new to MA stuff). I'll have my heli check by one of the MA rep in my area before I really start flying it. When I was building it, I noticed to much friction right there and that's why I put it a little bit further away. Thanks for bringing my attention to it.

sorry to be off topic...
when they are new the gears are tight.
not to sure if you did this but...
The parts that hold that primary TR drive gear to the ring.
it helps to losen all the bolts off that hold this gear in place and spin the gears while you tighten them.
another one is the main to the pinion.
losen the bolts that hold the clutch stack in place... both sides then spin the main gear while you tighten them back up. (don't forget the lock tight )
this of course helps the gear mesh and the bearing in the stack will make it through the gear break in.
I dont think these steps are in the MA book but they should be. This was something Todd showed me.
