I hear alot about Hatori and MPII. I have had both on 30 and 50 size helicopters. This is my first 90 size engine. I like the bigger range that you can get with the hatori, but it is expensive. I heard that the clamps and o-rings can be a problem. So what else is out there for the YS 91.
Engine may be going in an EVO Freya or raptor 90.

Thanks for any advice

Ken

Either one will do, the popular concensus is that the MP2 produced a little more power, but with a much narrower power band, while the SB16 is smoother over the spectrum with a wide power band. I currently run the SB16 and like it.

Has anyone tried the century silent power CN3090 on ys 91. The price is nice. Never seen one in action but someone must have one.

Not all the Hatori's need the clamp, ie. 937, and mine have been running all season without the O rings needing to be replaced, just be careful when you initially install the muffler and all should be fine(do not force the muffler on, as it can deform the O rings).
The Hatori maybe expensive but the overall performance is very good IMO.

Here's a picture of the mount I use on my SB16. I also use Viton o-rings that last much longer than the stock ones. Another trick when installing the muffler over/onto the o-rings is spit. This helps the muffler slip onto the header and over the o-rings without binding or pinching the o-rings.
