ugh. engine flame out. I guess i need to go to engine tuning school, cause i thought i had it right. I was only about 20 feet high, in the middle of a banking turn and as soon as i started to increase collective, engine quits...ugh...

any tips for tuning the tt90 engine?

(insert all "replace with os/ys engine" remarks here)

I did see a post from russd a while back saying about the needle mod on the TT90 I think, and it improving the tuning no end, same mod as what used to be done on the TT50 needle I believe.

A few suggestions. Make sure that your clunk line is short enough that it doesn't hit the end of the tank shutting off your fuel supply. Also it helps to have a faster servo on the throttle then the collective.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it!

what's a good servo for the throttle then? I don't want to use another digital because all the others are digital and I already only get 2 flights per charge. Something moderatly inexpensive perhaps...
oh and what's the needle mod?

.
mix your cyclic and throttle.

makes flying much smoother and avoids bogging (and the flame out).

.
start with 50% mix for cyclic/throttle.

that means that your aileron (master) mixes your throttle (slave)
with a 50% ratio.

and your elevator (master) mixes your throttle (slave) also with
a 50% ratio.

you'll immediately notice that your heli will fly very smooth.
