Its only in the servo, its .01 faster and 8.1 oz of torque better, so I doubt that it could be felt I haven't flown mine yet.

I have flown both. The 601 was rock solid, so it is hard to improve on that. The servos are the same pulse width and act very much the same. I think some things were changed to totally eliminate some minor drifting, making it a bit better for crosswind hovering, but again, I never had issues with the 601.

I had 3 -601s and 2 -611s. Every one works perfectly for me.

I just bought a 611 for my Tempest. I already have 2 601s so if I can feel a difference, I will be sure to post.

Frankly, my flying abilities are such that I doubt I can tell a difference!

Perhaps a 300 ft tail drop would be a good test for a 601 vs 611 comparison.

I was under the impression that the change was because of a different manufacturer of some part of the gyro. That's why it's called the 611 and not the 701.

I asked because I thought my 601's were great and the resale of the gy601 has declined about 30$ since the 611 gyro came out.

There is absolutely no discernable difference. 150+ ft tail drops, extreme backwards flight by some hired hands, I have 4 601's and 1 611 all on 90 sized machines and they all fly the same.

LOL but I think it gave my engine more power (for those of you that cant get it its a joke)

611

I just got a 611 and it is rock solid. I've never really flown with a 601 just a short flight but I can't really tell a difference.

GY601 = GY611 Exactly!

the only thing it's the servo...
all the Electronics + Electornics Preformance!! are the same!!!!
the sensor rate, communication with servo, speed of A/D alll the same!
sorry to tell you, but it's just "New 601" so they called it 611..
and NO ONE in the world would say that the GY601 wasn't good enogh and he need Fastest Gyro for flying.... NO ONE!!!
so let's say Futaba don't need to make Better Gyro....
and if they will do more Better and more Faster Gyro, NO ONE will fill it in air, because there is Mechanics and Heli Physics Limitations also....

The difference between 611 and 601 is 10

601 isn't good enough. Too heavy, too bulky, costs too much, draws too much current

OK I'll bite

There is a very, and I emphasize, very slight difference in performance between the two. The 611/9256 holds rates a little better in the wind than the 601/9251. Now it may be just the difference in the servo but I do not have an extra 9256 yet to test that by using it with the GY601.

If you look up the specs the A/D conversion and servo controls are the same specs... As for holding better in sideways wind I cannot confirm I dont have much wind lol... But the A/D and servo controls are identical.. The only difference by spec is a .01 faster servo.. Thats it..
