Forgive my ignorance, but what, if any, is the difference between SPCM and PCM?

I have a JR2610 Tx that has SPCM mode, and a cheap far eastern heli that has a PCM Tx and Rx, but I cannot get my Tx to work with it.

Anyone got a number for Heli-widows, my wife wants to join!!

PCM systems are proprietry to the manufacturer,

for eg
JR will offer non PCM (PPM) ZPCM (512 encoding) and SPCM (1024 encoding)
Again, for example you can quite happily use a futaba ppm reciever with a JR tx that is in PPM mode.
You wont be able to use Futaba PCM Rx with a JR Tx in a PCM mode.

The same will apply to your Eastern micro,
The rx and pcm type it uses needs its Tx to be using the same code.

Isn't there a compatability problem that prevents a Futaba negative shift tx from being used with a JR positive shift rx and vice versa?

GimbalFan,

MILNEI and Vigor3DFX are in Europe where Futaba and JR PPM systems can coexist quite well. It's only here in the States, on 72mHz systems, that it is necessary to worry about positive/negative shift.

You Brits. Drive on the wrong side of the street, odd shift on your radios.

What's NEXT with you folks -- take-offs and landings on your head buttons? Painting the inside of your canopies? Flying BACKWARDS?

Hey wait a minute... am I... am I a Brit too?... Blimey!

Bangers an' mash an' a pint for everyone, on me.
