What a dumb b1tch, to think that was a real helicopter on fire. Anyone with half a brain could tell it doesn't even look like a real one.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Who Was it?

Someone in LA has to know these guys.

C'mon they looked at the damn camera!

Too funny!

That lady felt like an idiot... Even the Chopper Pilot / Cameraman felt foolish.

And the dudes saw the real heli, heard sirens then bailed!!!
PMSL!!! I needed a good laugh today! Thanks!!

Those guys should have stuck around and defended the hobby though!
Might have gotten a ride in the real deal! The pilots and fireman seamed disappointed that they missed out!

That made my day. Too bad the guys didnt stick around though. I would of loved to hear what they had to say. It also looked like a fun spot to fly.

that woman = paranoid and maybe she only uses a 1/4 of her brain :P

They looked like young guys in their teens or 20s. If it were me and a buddy and we weren't flying at a sanctioned field, well I think we'd prolly take off rather then run the risk of getting some sort of crazy fine.

Maybe the two guys will see themselves on tv, turn themselves in and maybe the news will do a follow-up on them in one of their uplifitng positive stories :P

Funny that the full scale pilot seems to be oblivious to what exactly he was looking at, but then I guess our hobby is just that darn obscure =\

Nonetheless, was cool that our hobby got some air time and no animals were harmed in 3D flight

That just shows the saddening state of intelligence of the average human. Must be all that smog down there causing brain erosion.

SHE ISN"T THE FIRST!!!!!

when i used to fly my 30 in a park, i had people come to me saying that they thought it was a real heli flying around real low (looking from the distance) thent hey saw it going upside down and go below the tree line, then got real confused and came to see what the hell it was.

First, to a lay person who's not the least bit interested in, and has abolutely no experience with, RC aircraft, it doesn't seem to me to be out of the realm of possibility that one of our models could be mistaken for it's full size counterpart, especially from a distance.

Second, has anyone ever actually seen a fire that was started by a glo powered RC aircraft, airplane or helicopter? I've been in this hobby for over 20 years and I've participated in "many" crashes and witnessed "many" more and I've never seen one that even came close to starting a fire. I'm not saying it's impossible but from my experience, it's not that likely either.

and

Third, our models ARE real helicopters!! Just because they're not big enough to sit in, doesn't mean they're not REAL helicopters!

Fly Safe,
Steve R.

Here's a fire that was caused by a heli (picture 6 posts down):

I agree though, definitely very unlikely.

given link doesn't work for me. Probably another overscripted page with lots of overengineered windows IE code
Is there a link where I can just download it and plug it into the media player?
