I don't understand it. My 450 XL CCPM doesn't seem to give me any real problems at all. No tail wag. No motor or swashplate coming apart in flight. I don't have anything to complain about that hasn't been caused by myself. I have it pretty much blinged out but that's only because I like to spend money not because of failures. It really doesn't fly much different than when it was totally stock. It is prettier now though.

Granted, I'm just starting to fly circuits and 3D if I ever do it will be a long way off. Maybe when it starts getting pushed hard I'll start to see some of the things I see posted here. For now I'm just in awe of how well this thing flys with no issues at all.
When my testicles get a little bigger I'll go ahead and start pushing the envelope a bit more.

So what's the deal? Am I just lucky? Have I managed to somehow prep it good enough that I took care of any problems before they could show themselves? I have been paying a lot of attention to posts here and implementing mods and tricks/tips that others have posted. I'm thinking that's where the success is coming from. So here is a big thanks to all that share their knowledge. You made moving to helicopters easy, successful and fun for me. Many others too I'm sure.

My favourite part of your entire blurb, lol. I have avoided allot of issues by reading RR posts and so fourth. This is an extremely good resource for us, thanks to all from me as well in this regard.

I had the same experience – no problems and outstanding performance. Actually the 450XL has been one of my most trouble free helicopters that I own. I expect that most don’t have any problems but there are probably only a few with defective parts. I took out the swashplate and beat on it with a hammer and it would not come apart.

Almost all of the trouble I have had with the Rex I have caused myself ( the latest thing was using the wrong kind of screw in one of the arms and blowing out all three servos by scraping up against one of the other arms). This is after it was all blinged out.

The machine flys just fine stock and I have to think that unless you really drive it hard, you will find it just fine.

You guys do realize you just jinxed the hell out of yourselves? Be careful flying this weekend. What you have all just stated is so loaded with bad Karma that it's almost as bad as the dreaded... "Ehh, I'll just burn through one more battery cuz I'm doing so well" LOL
Have fun guys!! Glad to hear your Rexys are rockin!

Actually, the karma may not be that bad... lots of praise being given... seems pretty pleasing to the heli gods to me.... I too want to say thanks to all those that regularly post here with answers as well as questions.... I have learned a hell of a lot!!

But Honey, I can't live with just stock.....

He he. I forgot about the possibility of karma creaping in. It's all meant to be praise though. Both for the heli and everyone that helps here in the forum.
Let's all keep our fingers crossed this weekend. No crash reports please!

Well this morning I jumped on the karma train and kicked the engineer right in the nuts. No problems at all. I flew two packs before the wind picked up. I even flew much more agressive than normal. Did a lot of side in, forward and back flight as well as some circuits. I just can't ask for the Rex to be any better. I'll probably do 3 or 4 packs tomorrow.
