Smaller helis rock. You can achieve an even greater power to weight ratio with some of them. Here are videos of the past of Jamie Wilson doing crazy 3D of the original CP Hummer Elite. This is back when the head controls were not very responsive. The others are some of my climbout vids just display the power potential of micros helis. The last video is are of the TRex doing some nice 3D displaying the power, as well as control.

Hi Zoom,

Thanks for the video's. I am in awe. I hoping to get into inverted flight next spring. I have a trex coming for christmas, the parts are cheap enough to venture into 3d.

I wish I had gotten into this hobby when I was 9 instead of my tender age, and no a woman never tells

These videos have given me many ideas to add to my simulator regime!

Wish me luck!

Cheers,
Leslie

When I was 9.....

Les talked about only if she can start flying helis at 9. I remembered that when I was 9 I had my very first RC car. It had Radio Shack in bold red letters on the hood. It went straight going forward and turned in reverse. I was the happiest kid in the world. By 12 I had my first real RC model car, with chain 4WD and true suspension with oil shocks. I haven't touched RC since 16. When my wife was pregnant with our first child I was tied down to the house and RC became my only escape. My son will turn 2 in a week and here I am flying and tearing up the house with a little thing called hummingbird. I too wish I could had started when I was 9.....

Not the same with my son thou. I bought him a toy called "my first RC" when him was 3 months old. 2 months ago I brought him a RC heli toy from China. It's his favorite cartoon character with counter rotating rotors sticking out of its head. It lifts, hovers and lands. I was planning on playing it with him, but starting the 3rd time we played with it, he won't let me touches the remote no more. He would fly it and my job is to catch it before it hits ground or the ceiling. Also when he was one he started to sit on my lap to watch me fly on my G3. That became one of his daily bedtime routines. When he was 18 months old he started taking over the sticks on G3 (just to crash everything into the ground). Last night he didn't like the heli I chose, so He pushed me out of my computer room and took over the sticks all by himself. He kept on reset and crash, reset and crash for almost half an hour before quitting. I can't imaging what the hummingbird V9 would look like. I also can't imaging how my son will be in the RC hobby when he is 9 or even he will still be interested in it. For one thing I know RC toys and models are not what they used to be and the next generation won't be like us to save up for an entire year just to get a set of 4 channel radio.

I am glad that I was there when all I had was different sizes of balsa wood to work with, and seeing this hobby revolutionize until what it is today. I am also glad that my son can start RC when ever his fingers are ready, and there is almost no limit of what he can do with it. The best part of it is being part of my son's life as him grew up and playing with all the toys and models I can only had dreamed of when I was 9....

3D Pro? I have only "1D" under my belt, what am I going to do with "3D"?

Here is the Lost video I shot of Payton in his front yard having fun with his new 3D Pro. This is back when only the Field Reps had the Pro.
Please forgive the vid due to it being shot with a snap-shot camera.

The bird was totally stock with the Himax motor and all.

Zoom those videos look like me trying to hover.... LOL The only difference between those guys and me is they have total control and I don't, also mine usually end in a crash...... If I had started a 9 I would have had to invent the rc heli...LOL

Tom..... No "D" flying....
