I have a set up with Align 25esc/Align 420LF 3.2KW/ 2100 3s Lipoly and stock pinion. I am using a Futaba 9CHP set to:
Throttle Curve: 0/40/65/80/100
Pitch Curve: 0/15/30/45/60
Stock 315mm Woody blades
ESC Timing Medium
I used my heli stand to hold the heli down under power and have been unable to get more than 1700 rpm. Flying at this headspeed makes the heli sway & swing when hovering. If I reduce the pitch curve to
0/5/10/20/40 I get about 100 more RPM but no lift.
With the pictch set to zero on the curve I can get 2300 but as soon as I add some pitch RPM drops back down to its 1650-1700. I seem to be dancing around a solution I thought it may be the blades as they are so light?? any ideas?
Thanks

I can't tell you what it is, but check the gear mesh, pinion from hitting can, and your batterys. I had a simialor problem but mine would cut out because it would overdraw the packs, turns out the gear mesh needs to be loose.

You should also machanicaly zero you pitch then set a 0-100 for -10/+10 and a 50-100 for 0-+10.

Low head speed Speed Solution

I believe I solved the issue. I did not have a pitch guage for the smaller blades on e heli's, but yesterday I got a Align pitch guage.
I had throtthe curve at 0/35/65/85/100 and pitch curve at 0/25/50/75/100 I had a measured pitch of -3 at zero and 12 degrees at 50% throttle, yes 50% so it was full pitch at 65% throttle no wonder head speed was so crappy. So from half to full throttle there was no change in collective just some rod flexing!! As soon as I get my 325 Align CF blades on Saturday I will test fly after changing the pitch curve to 0/15/30/45/60 half of what it was but still linear.
Thanks.
