Hello ,
Just got a new SE Kit ,with TP 2000 Pro-Lite and TP charger.I have not started assembly, but I wonder how i would connect the plug from the charger to charge the Li-po pack .I also purchased Ultra Deans plugs.I have the align motor and ESC.So my main concern is in the future, after assembly ,how am I to charge the battery?
Also secondly is do i just charge the battery one before using for the first time ,which i will have to do in setting up the electronics?

thanks

hey
your battery is going to be plugged in to your ESC (eletronic speed controller)...both of these should have the deans connectors on them like you described you bought
then it is personal preference...but you can either solder the motor wires directly to the ESC(that's what i do) or you can use connectors there and use more deans

then in order to charge you need to buy wires (don't know if the align charger comes with some) and solder a dean plug on that to so you can just unplug your battery from your ESC, then plug it into your charger...

if you're still lost i'm sure someone else here more experienced can help!!

good luck....and HAPPY FLYIN

Thanks

Be very careful not to overdischarge the battery. Monitor the voltage and it's a good idea if you start with a fully charged battery when setting up electronics for the first time.

Thanks Chief for your photo of the Duratrax /Li-po ...where did u get that cable from (ie from charger to battery) and if you made it up ,do u really need a thick gauge as yours, since the cable from my TP charger is only like servo wire and it's supposed to be able to charge at up to 2500mah.

thanks again

Yes it is: It will charge at 2.5 amp just fine. The charge jack is a "JST" connector. You can either make an adaptor from JST to Deans, Or cut the JST off and put a Deans on it. I have done it both ways (have 3 chargers) and it works just fine charging my 2100s.

It's just something I have layin around the garage and put together myself, it's 14 gauge and the battery wires are 16 gauge. Not sure how thick it should be.
