Well, it's my birthday today, so I took the day off, and as luck would have it, this morning is sunny with no clouds, so out the field I go, even though it's about 15 degrees. On the second tank with my Raptor 70, I tap the tail at the end of an auto, and it shatters. The stock flexy plastic fin snapped right in half and both blades broke into about 4 pieces. I didn't hit very hard at all, I guess the cold made it brittle. Oh well, I was looking for an excuse to buy carbon tail blades.

Just got back from the hobby store, picked up a set of 95 carbons, I can't go any larger than 102mm, or the blades will touch, and my choices were 95 or 105. I didn't feel like cutting any down, so 95 it is.

Thanks guys.

Sorry about your shatters. I flew my Nexus a few years ago when the temperature was in the mid 20's fahrenheit. The windchill made it feel like the single digits. I tapped my landing gear too hard the the gear shattered as well.

Thanks helihi, you're a good guy, I appreciate the offer.

Scary to think how much would be broken with a crash if that much damage was done from a tail tap!
