I have a Warp 4 motor with the 13 tooth pinion, a CC35 ESC, TP2100 3S 335mm woodies. After about 8 or 10 minutes of hovering you can hear the head speed drop and the rex just settles to the ground. The battery is just slightly warm but the motor is too hot to keep your finger on it comfortably. It's not hot enough to burn you or to light a cigarette off of it but it's pretty warm. I checked the head speed and with the blades flat I'm getting about 2100 RPMs. Would this motor be happier and cooler with the 11 tooth pinion? And would this change my head speed? Or would the motor just spin faster with the reduced load. The radio is setup with the throttle curve ramping up to 85%. This gives me plenty of lift and I'm not ready for any 3D just learning how to hover.

Somewhere around 160-180F is the maximum temperature for most motors. A good efficient setup will run in the 130-150F range on a hot (90F) day.

It is also important to keep LiPo batteries under 140F.
