Can anyone direct me to clear and concise instructions on how to set up Aerofly Pro Deluxe for heli flight?

I'll appreciate any help here.

I just took the time to figure it out since the people at AFPD weren't any help. It was as if I was talking to a broken record! Though they still haven't answered a few questions regarding heli setup.

I think I've learned that AFPD does not allow you to use your own throttle and pitch curves. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I've also tried to figure out how to use the mix 100% versus the mix -100%. I was never given a straight answer so I gave up due to being busy. Thanks AFPD
I'll have to give it another go when I have some time.

Your correct on the pitch and throttle curves. Makes no difference what you do there.

actually, you CAN use your own pitch and throttle curves but i only managed it once by accident and i have ZERO idea on how i done it. i normally just use the values AFPD comes with but i definetely had it working via the transmitter. i must have selected something in the options.

you won't find instructions on how to setup any heli or plane for any sim. biggest reason i guess is there are just so many variables to consider and there is no way they can get a model to feel like i want it to and how someone else would want it. although even the ball park settings are a joke and they could address this. e.g the fury is overpowered and not enough neg pitch or cyclic, but, not everyone would want it to be fully 3d capable and thats why they can't make a heli to suit everyone.

with a little tweaking i'm happy enough with how my helis fly in AFPD. i'm only struggling with the tail doing certain things but it's getting there.

cheers

Guys,

Yes Raptorheli, I figured it out. I now need to fine tune my curves. A couple things.....

1) I decided to use channels 3 and 6 since this follows a standard setup. I remember reading awhile back (in my 9CHP manual) that it follows a standard channel guide for Mode 2

Channel 1 = roll (aileron)
Channel 2 = fore and aft (elevator)
Channel 3 = throttle
Channel 4 = yaw (tail rotor)

This leaves channels 5 and 6. so I choose 6 for pitch since my gyro ususally uses 5 on my real models.

I noticed that if I choose 6 for engine (throttle) and 3 for pitch, it did not work. According to the AFPD manual it should. By choosing 3 for throttle and 6 for pitch this allowed me to pilot with my own curves!

2) For some reason it doesn't seem to respond all that well to a linear throttle curve in a normal flight mode nor a V curve for idle up 1. It has to be configured as if it is using a govenor. For example: my throttle curves are as follows. (keep in mind I haven't tweaked them yet)

Normal Flight mode - 20%, 75%, 100%, 100%, 100%
Idle up 1 - 100%, 100%, 100%, 100%, 100%

I fly AFPD with my own curves. In advanced controller setup you can assign every channel to every function.

I fly with five flight modes, norm, idle1, idle2, idle3, and hold.

I edit helis to have in main rotor -9, 12, and then program the curves to have
norm -3,5,9
idle 3: -9,0,9
hold: -6,0,12

I fly like in real, with the same swichtes in the same position.

Sorry for my english, Im spanish.
