Ok....my align motor has come apart for the last time....I'm buying a AON motor....i have a T-rex 450XL with a CC 35 ESC W/castlelink USB wire....wich AOn motor is the best for my Non 3-D flying skills...
I can do stall turns, loops, rolls, and circuits....but thats about it....I did a SEARCH but didn't find what i was looking for....
here are my choices

AON V2815-3000
AON V2815-3500
AON T2815-3000
AON T2815-3500

As we all know......modefo's site gives no description of the parts, so if someone out there would be so kind to tell me the difference in these motors and wich one would be best suited for my set-up and skills and what pinion to would be best

thanks, Dave

Fly the blades off it !!

Don't know much about the others, but we are running the AON T2815-3500 and either the 10 or 11T pinions and they fly great. If you want to go crazy, you could but a 9T Pinion and a 4S Li-Po.

jcimino ... Is there a post with results for the aon 3500 on 4 cells ? I was following one a while ago and i never did get a result.

Is it a good setup ? Or it a high headspeed setup ?

Thanks ,

biggster ...

The aon thrust 3500 kv motor is the 3 cell pick
The aon thrust 3000 kv motor is the 4 cell pick

I believe the "thrust" series is for the helicopters. I havr the 3500 with heatsink and it runs very cool. On the heavy end of the scale for a motor.

Of couse the outcome of the 4 cell 3500kv testing might yeild another good application in the rex. Hopefully it's a good fit for me as i have one right now in a 3 cell ship that hopefully i could re-use in a 4 cell setup. Right now i have the whole machine for sale to fund the remaining parts for a 6 cell setup.

I think the V stands for Verticle which is for helicopters. Or at least that's what the AON website says. T stands for Thrust which is for airplanes. I have the AON V2815-3500.

the v is for vertical , i fly the 3500 with 1800mah evo's 11tooth pinion and can get my head speed way to high !!!!
this setup doesnt suffer with bogging at all running around the 2800 hs
the motor runs the coolest ive ever known any motor
i also know that there is a different part number for the motor that does not have the heat sink with it
get one , you wont be sorry at all , knocks spots off align motors
heavy though 96g i think
there is a report about them on trex tuning's web site

If you need to get high , go and fly !

I would suggest going for the 3000 kv and use a 11t pinion = 2357 hs then if you need more power use a 13 or 15t 13t will give you 2786 hs
Or even at a later stage you can opt for a 4s set-up and use a 9t for better economy and flight times

The world is round you can run but you will always end up where you started from
