just seen a review of the x-400 in a mag so had a phone around lhs(uk).
only one shop stocks them, others said they do not stock because of bad quality.
the shop what does stock them told me he only sells the rtf kit as this is better in the fact that the parts fit right.in the kit form they are a nightmare.is this rubbish.
i have had a look at past posts and it does seem quality is suspect. any advice or kit selection would be great.i am flying a zoom at present.

I have the ARF HeliMax MX400, which is the same thing as the Ark X400 kit. All the parts were present and I am happy with the way it flies. I boiled the plastic landing gear after reading posts here that the white plastic is brittle. Unfortunately, I didn't find out about that till after I put the decals on the white plastic tail fins or I would have boiled them too. But they're still holding up ok. And I replaced the oem tail blades with Trex blades after hearing they break. The Trex blades fit fine. The only other big mod I made was to mount the t/r servo on the boom using Trex parts because the oem pushrod was flexy and too short.

Possible that since HeliMax is a fairly decent-sized distributor here in the US, they made sure the ARF has all the parts. Of course, since it IS an ARF, it's pretty obvious if something is missing.

Brent.

I got both Trexs and MXs. The arf MX needs a lot of attention on fit and checking over. The main rotor hub blew apart on the first test flight. This part is very flimsey. That would be my first metal upgrade. My second upgrade would be the elevator stuff. Several people are putting Align parts on their Helimax. After my experiences I would recommend one of the Trexes over the MX.
