I know I saw it on here awhile ago, but I couldn't find it again.

I thought I remember the number 573mm coming up. It is a Hawk Sport with a little too much power, will 580mm blades work, or am I gonna be smacking the tail blades?

You can run 580's IF you keep the tail stock. With the tripple ball bearing upgrade you can only run 570's.

lavarocks,
I'm running 575 woodies on my Hawk Pro. Does someone make a 573?

I don't think so, I just remembered someone saying that was the max blade size you could run on a hawk for some reason. How do you like the 570's?

Actually they are 575mm and I like them a lot. The cyclic is a bit softer because the blade CG is farther out. My head speed is a little slower too. I like the popping sound they make when coming down on descent. The part I like the most, I guess, is the way they auto. I’ve done a dozen or so in dead calm air with no problem at all.

A negative side to these blades is that they would pitch up pretty bad in FFF. My max collective was +12 degrees and I think that’s what caused the problem. I adjusted my max collective down to about 9.5 to 10 degrees and it stopped pitching up so bad. I only use +12 degrees when doing autos.

I guess I should fess up. My blades are Sport Aerotech 600mm (CN2324) cut down to 575mm. I would not recommend anyone do that and try any 3D stuff with them.

They work for me,

Yeah, Mavrikk makes a set of 580 Carbons that I might try out. They aren't the best blades, but the size and price is right.

lavarocks,

I've flown the Rotortech 570's on my Toki powered Hawk Pro and they are great! Really good autos, fast foward flight, and 3D. Flys almost like a 50 size. I highly recommend them.
