A little while after the Szabos left I started my Raptor.50 with a brand new NiMH 4-cell 4500 battery.

I flew it in a hover for a bit and then I started to fly it away from me,fliped my JR 9303 transmitter to stunt mode, did a 1/2 roll and then did a 1/2 loop faceing upright toward me.

I started to forwerd flight from left to right,it started to forwerd pich so I gave back pich to correct it,but nothing happend.I moved everthing but my Raptor did not do anything but pich forwerd and go down About one secant befor it hit the ground I fliped the throttle hold swich.

I hade no control over my raptor,it locked up on me.

My Paptor.50 hit head on,the first thing to hit the ground was the nose of the canopy.

here's what's left of my rappy

NiMH 4-cell 4500 battery
What kind of battery is that? Did you check to see if it was fully charged before and after it crashed?

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

I was there, Mav, but I only saw the aftermath. How high do you think you were when the rx quit? I thought you were fairly low, but that's a lot of damage. You must've been higher up than I thought.

Another mechanical switch failure? It's a difficult thing to check, but the cause of many crashes.

It was about 30/40 feet up when it locked up on me.

My nickel metal 4.cell 4500 was charged, but not fully charged.

after the crash a friend told me and my dad to do a range check, all the servos except two,my futaba 9253/tail servo, and one of my JR-DS811.

when I did the range check with my transmitter antenna all the down, every thing worked

chung said it was probably frequency interference.

Back to the drawing bord. I hope to get it back up before the
LAS VEGAS heli funfly in february.

Reminds me of my recent rappy 30 crash. You know it's bad when you take out the servo tray and most of the electronics Crashing sucks! Hope you have another Heli to fly while your rebuilding that one

Mav, since most computer screens are still 4x3 instead of 16x9, out of respect to my fellow RR'ers I'll save that pic for posterity instead of posting. Common courtesy keeps me from stretching out all those 4x3 screens with that shot.

Boy Mav. You did a good job there. Time to send that radio in for a good check up. Did the receiver go in for a check up after the last incident? Or was that a new receiver? Hope you find the problem, nothing worse then chasing a ghost.

Bummer....what a painful crash!!!

Hopefully you'll be rebuild by Feb....I'm wishing the same for me.

Remember when flying inverted that down is up and up is EXPENSIVE!

What are the chances the canopy lifted up and locked on your elevator? Did you put in the screw mod on the lower canopy catch to keep that from happening?
