I need your help on selecting a battery for my Vigor CS.

Currently I have installed two (2) Expert 1500ma NiMH batteries and two (2) switch harnesses. Is this over kill????

I thought maybe I should install One (1) Expert 2700ma NiMh battery with only one switch. My idea was to have a back-up battery and switch for redundancy.

I have all digital servos and a 14 channel receiver, GV-1, and a 601 gyro.

Your help would be appreciated.

How about a Duralite 4000mah Li-ion and a Switched 5.1 v Regulator???

I dont think it gets any better than that!

I like the Duralite 4000/ 5.3v regulator myself. Not a huge difference in feel but why not get the extra 0.2v?

Really,

Any regulator would be fine, but I would use the duralite switched 5.1 or 5.3 regulator. If you use the switched Duralite, it has a failsafe(The switch fails open) kinda like the Fromeco, and on top of that the Redundancy of the pack, (2 series 2 parallel) If one cell, or two for that matter fail then the other two will keep everything online and above min. voltage.

As far as voltage goes, i like to keep in around 5.1 for the 601, but everyone is different! 5.1 or 5.3 would be fine either way.

Its really a great set up, and above that, A very safe set up.

Hope that helps,

Jarrett W.

BTW... Iam not sponsored of affiliated with Duralite in any way! just ask my flying buddies!! LOL

Also,

Running the 5.1 or 5.3 you WILL notice a difference in the way the heli feels!!

Another plus!!

Jarrett,

Thank you for the help!!

I did not know about the back-up capabilities of he Duralite and Duralite switch system.

I noticed that Duralite sells different 4000ma packs, could you let me know which ones to order, ant the regulator??

Also, should I buy from Duralite directly?

Sorry for all the questions.

Mark,

Here is what you need:

All P/N's are from the Duralite Website.

HE-PKG2 $232.75 It comes with everything you need. (Battery, Charger, power supply for the charger, leads, load checker and regulator. It comes with a non switched regulator, but iam sure they will sub. a switched regulator for a little cash.

As far as ordering goes, I know Ricks has them, but so does Duralite direct. Whomever you prefer. There prices are about the same. Duralites' customer Service is also top notch.

It is a very SIMPLE setup. Just hookup the charger and when the light goes out, go fly. No fast charging though (without voiding warranty) But I would recommend reading the instructions very well.

Good luck,

Jarrett W.

definately agree with you guys, im about to put a 6v system with regulator on my sceadu, as doing 3d, its all hitec 6965 with 6975 on pitch, 601 and gv1 and the gyros just not holding well in backwards flight, keeps blowing. Have looked at loadsa stuff, feel it can only be that everything is drawing too much outa the 4.8v 3300 Nimh pack. Gunnu take your advice on the Duralite regulator tho, cheers.
