Most likely. I won't be able to confirm until I see the mysterious new engine.

Hi Stephen

Do you know if OS will release a work around for previous owners? or if the new carb from the SZ might fix this problem.? There must be a hell of alot of us with these 91 pumped engines that are having issues .

I'v seen two SZ's flying at a fun fly this summer. Both ran flawless! But looking closer I noticed that both had OMI updates (kline reg / 3 needle carb ) What's up with that. I'm sure they didn't come from the factory that way.

I'll be looking for shops that sell this motor without a carb, so I can put my OMI setup on it as well!

I don't blame you, My OMI set up has made my C-spec a reliable motor.

What people in the US did not get fully informed of is that the current 91 was designed for the Japanese market where in flight mixture control is the norm. It is no engineering mistake that the popular GV-1 has provisions for mixture control.

Running the engine without mixture control seems to be the problem and the reason we here in the US need the expensive work around. It seems to me that the engine is very well designed and if used as designed it, works like a champ. OS should have made that abundantly clear to the US market.

I think the new engine is intended more for the US market where very few pilots use mixture control. I'm hoping that the new 91 is analogous to the 50 Hyper. Set and forget and go burn fuel.

New OS Max 91SZ-H

It sure looks like an OS 50 Hyper on steroids?
I wonder if it will fit in my EVO 50? (LOL)
