Well after many flights with a couple of v1 helis I went ahead and order everything for a new v2 kit. My skills have greatly improved since last year so I hope to do some mild 3D with this setup.

I think you will like it, it has all the upgrades. Mine came from Tower Hobby and am very happy with the quality. Now I’m looking for a Gyro for it. Once I get proficient in flying then I plan to upgrade some of the parts for it.

it a great fly heli....but i think the plastic on the tail and belt gear still suck...you still can't fly off any hard grass or the belt gear will strip...and if you read the review rc heli...the belt tail gear and shalf will pop off under heavery load....don't get me wrong ..if it setup right this is a great smooth fly heli...i still think this fly better then my Trex which i sold.........

Well many people claimed to have problems with the v1 tail but I never had an issue with mine.

I think the real weak point is the plastic tail pulley just pushed onto a round shaft (what genius thought that up?). It will slip, just a matter of sooner or later. Fix is a CNC tail pulley with setscrews to locate it. The rest of the design seems fine and I love flying mine too.

(I also liked the V1 but could never get the gears sorted so I put a belt drive on that one. I never really liked the elevator linkage on my belt conversion so I bought the V2 which is definitely a better design all around).

Hey Good Choice
I,ve been flying My V2 for about 6 months now the only thing that went wrong on the heli was the gear that runs the tail belt, I lost 3 teeth you may want to order an extra one My V2 has over 100 flights on it!!!
I also upgraded the Tail Pulley with the Microheli alumimium Pulley.
The plastic Pulley heats up and starts to slip on the shaft and soon you will be having to adjust your tail trim not good if you are in heading hold mode!!! I also Recently upgraded my Tail rotor to the Aluminum Grips Tail Slider and Pitch Lever. If you Don't Buy the Aluminium Tail Carrier you will have to modify your Pitch arm mount out about 3 MM, This upgrade took out all of the slop that the stock assembly has it is worth the money and the tail servo dosen't have to work so hard to keep the tail straight ( no more hunting) If you want unreal cyclic control get the Carbon fiber Paddles! Helihobby has them. Look under composites to find them.
This Heli Flies Great right out of the Box
Oh One more Thing, If you Go Brushless I Suggest a DH400 From Just go Fly.,This Motor is an outrunner and is a Great work horse with an 8 tooth gear,I am able to get 2800rpm headspeed out of it doing 3D
and the motor stays quite cool and the battery only gets about 120 degrees, run time is in the 12 to 14minute range using Duralite 1600Mah LiPo 3 cell Batteries!!!

Sounds to me like the Diamond Dave wannabee needs some warmer weather for flying ... a problem that has put quite a dampner on my schedule.
