Hey,

All the load data given by Bell bloke makes very good reading, he has done a sterling job. So well done to him.

Since I have been chatting ot others and trying to get some other calculations to reference against also.

Nothing major to date but I was given this link for working out the "centripetal force".

"Any motion in a curved path represents accelerated motion, and requires a force directed toward the center of curvature of the path. This force is called the centripetal force which means "center seeking" force."

So what blade bolt(s) are you using to handle that 390Kg trying to take the blades off the head ?

And at 1600 RPM, that goes to 2,000 lbs.

Peter,
Size is not what matters, it's all to do with the oscillation speed!

The forces will also be transferred up the chain. Blade bolts then blade grip and thrust bearing....Suddenly you find yourself flying a fixed pitch heli!

Firstly here are some pics of the Predator with the big blades on.
I have come to the conclusion that these blades don't really suit the Predator, as they are too laid back and make it fly too much like a scale machine. I think that at the end of the day even if you don't do 3D (which I don't) it's still fun to tank about and burn up the sky a little, and these big blades are just too sedate for that. So I'm going to take both sets to the field, that's the 800s' and the 850s' and see how I feel on the day.

And finally........... I found these photos of my former interest....motoring.
Here are some of my toys past and present.
That is except for the Ferrari Testarossa 1959LM, not mine, although I have driven it in a bit of a hurry!!
I'm not exaggerating when I say it's worth £1.5million, GULP!!! Nice car though, sounded fantastic.
Lotus cars, my first love and for me still the best., they are sublime in their handling, and to date apart Gorden Murrys' Mclaren F1, I've never driven a better road car than the my Gold V8GT.
The Aston V8 was a monster! I bought it when I was 22 and used to scare my friends in it....'4' at a time!!!! Nice safe handling, but very unreliable and thirsty.
As for the Lambo.... fast, furious, fantastic noise but handles like a pig, and that's being charitable to it. It will however, snap knicker elastic from 400yards even grannies are mesmerized by it!!!
I know it's not helis, but I thought you might like to see them as we are all boys together.
Oh and there is a classic turbine in the background of the shot of the V8GT Lotus, so a kind of link I suppose.

I have put the 810 MAH blades on the predator, only had a quick go on them before the rain came but they seem a good match....let me know if you wanna try them out?

Richie, whats that V4 like? Have ridden the VTwin, what a monster! In a good way, I must add. Are you tracking it, as I see you have the fairing savers?
And finally, what's with the blue light on the VW van?

The V4 is super smooth....it will pull your arms of if you want it to!! Really comfortable bike. (Heated grips in this weather help alot!!) The blue light is because its a 1971 german fire truck...it has sirens and a PA system and a two story hardwood ladder (I removed the ladder as it weighs a tonne and wants to tip the van over when going around corners) I bought it from the german fire brigade when they retired it...i bought it when it had less than 20k mile on the clock (its still only done 34k) It drives like it is brand new!! Plenty of room in the back for a turbine heli with extended boom!!
