Mark,

It's pretty much as per the TP recs. Fly about 6 flights gently to consume no more than 50% of rated capacity IE about 1000ma's on a TP 2100. For my Trex, this means about 4.5 minute flights. Recharge after each flight after the pack is cold. After those 1/2 dozen flights, I fly a few more for about 7 minutes making sure all is well, then use the pack normally after that. I'm not flying much more than 8-8.5 minutes per charge. There's about 25%-28% left in the pack, which I think is a good safety margin over pushing things too far. Some guys push to10 minute flights and use close to 90% of rated capacity, which I think is silly given that the packs cost what they do. Save up a little more money and buy additional packs if you want more back to back flight time.

Mark,
I agree with Ben 100%! I am still using some Gen2 TP2100 Lipos that were broken in and are flown using the guidelines he is recommending.

To give credit where due, it was Gary that suggested to me via PM that I do the break in as described. It darn sure works well. My three packs are happy, healthy and very strong as a result of this method.

I break in mine the same way 1/2C charging on my Orbit Microlader then time it for a 5 minute hover.. Cool down batteries til room temp, then charge again. I do this about 4 times. Then I go ahead and fly it normally.. Is this bad?

Sounds like we're on about the same page except we do a few more gentle, part cycles. 6 versus your 4.
