anyone ever try mouting paintball guns to helicopters? it would be interesting to see a couple of helis go after each other, i doubt a paint ball would do much damage to a heli, unless it hit a link or something more fragile, haha. could do it witha couple beater helis no one cares about anymore. watch a paintball turn into a puff in the air when hit by a blade, hahaha. maybe go after them oldtimer planks and put holes in the wing, then give them farts a real reason to hate heli's.hahaha

AND, yeah yeah yeah...if your reply is just gonna constist of "do you know how dangerous that is"...or "couldn't you give those pos helis to someone that needs them?" then dont bother, its not what i asked for. if you do, i'll assume you didn't read down this far, haha

i'm sure a 90 size machine would be more then capable of lifting everything...just how many people have a 90 machine they wanna scrap? unless you use the handgun ones. or have a planker loaded up with racks of those paintball grenades, hahaha.

Gosh, do you know how dangerous that would be. I can't believe you would suggest such a thing. lol That would be a lot of fun to do. There are pics is someones gallery of the aftermath of people shooting a heli from the ground with paintballs. They used pink paintballs, and the whole heli is a pink blob.

Helidrone with paint ball gun = $4,999.95 Wonder if they have sold any?

I would think that a paint ball that are fired in FFF would slow down pretty fast since they are so big. A dog fight between two helis would probably not be very effective, but pottering around and shooting stationary targets would probably work...

well, paint balling between two helis i dont think would be to try to bring each other down, you could run a scoreing system, the loser cleans the others machines

i think they would make more money if they made a mod that could be addapted to a more common machine, and even be easily be removed for sport flying.

I would toss the paintball idea and get something with live rounds in it aka chaingun

It would be interesting to film a Dogfight in those conditions between 5 raptors and a Freya Evo (The raptors wouldn't be allowed to have any guns except themselfs...kamikaze).

Now that would be a Vid I would pay for

Oh, I have to stop sniffing Nitro in the morning...

HAHAHA, you know what? i was thinking of something similar not long ago, except i thought of a 30 machine lifting a shot gun, then when the gun goes off it rips itself from the heli and knocks out the pilot

Due to size, weight, and mess involved with Paintball have you ever considered Airsoft? Without going into all the specific differences airsoft is basically the same as paintball but instead of using compressed Co2 and paintballs you fire 6mm plastic BB's at 300-400fps with gearbox, hop-up, and small electric motor.
One advantage I can definately see with paintballs is the weight per round, which would have a huge effect on range and accuracy.

Anyone interested can do a general google search or just check ebay..
Stick with names like "Tokyo Marui" and stay away from the junk wannabees. The old saying "you get what you pay for" seems to apply to all hobbies

ahh..

why not put it on a camera gimble system with the eyetop glasses beind the side. Have to man crews and the one that can shoot the other down with his team wins the prize of top gun. There are many pilots but only one top gun...lol.

Of course safety is important here and would be a high altitude fight

intersting though. Maybe put a target and hover and see hhow accuarate the fun on the heli would be...lol..

yeah, it would be cool to have the gun on a turret with a cam lookin down the sights, so you got a pilot and a gunner just like an Apache/Commanche/Hind and all those. that would just kick ass, haha.

Thats what I was on about, did that with a mini electric airsoft gun, 300bbs about 150ft/s speed (weak ass gun, but small and light) it was boresighted to the heli and was fun.

Best thing is downdraft wasnt a problem and should be even less of a problem with more speed.
