says there are 27400 Members. i bet there are a great number of doubles though. or even ones just messin around.
True, but if you dig deeper you'll find that over 1/3 of that number has 0 posts, and you can be sure that there are some ppl with more than one account, which further dilutes that number... it's too bad that Mark doesn't delete accounts like he does posts At least then you'd have a rough idea of the current membership.

My point exactly. The number is horribly misleading.

every year there are new pilots and old ones leaving , maybe the current active members are more like 900 members , hope fully someone will make a post to have a current roll call and see how many active pilots we have in 2005 then we can compare next year at this time to see if we increased or stayed the same

runryder is nothing compared to the really used forums, i frequent http://www.reefcentral.com their message boards get heavily used, over 108,000 members and very rarely less then 1500 online with usually another 3-400 "guests" online.

im sure their bandwidth and storage are very expensive, its bad enough that most of the day you cannot use the search function as it cannot handle the users online at that time. It is currently running 705,000 threads with over 6 million posts. Now your talking alot of storage for that amount of info!!!

24640 Members This List (2809 just removed)

http://runryder.com/memberlist.htm

RR policy is to prune all members with zero posts that have not logged in for over a year.

Re Statistics: http://runryder.com/stats.htm

The site is easily seeing over 10,000 active heli enthusiasts a month. With over 9,200 log-ins and a conservative 25% guests (2300) that would put us at 11,500 viewers a month.

Also RR's session engine correctly states the guest count. With most other sites, online totals are comprised of many more guests than logged in users. RR normally shows 2 members for every guest. Others are exactly opposite.

Hi Bill, I remember.

Re: RR proprietary session engine.

Most other online total counts reflect completely inaccurate values because of the guest side of things. The inflated guest counts are the result of search engines using multiple IP's.

My guess would be 2000 active members. Active being more than 3 posts in the last 6 months.
