Here is a pic of our 25 foot mast. Have built two more masts, 35 ft and 42 foot models. Have opted for 'cup seals' rather than O-rings in the new masts. Mounting and transporting the masts are the biggest problem. Taller masts (12 feet collapsed) are a pain to get the camera on/off at times. 6 and 8 foot can travel erect.

These masts are heavy duty, no problem lifting 10 to 15 pounds and no guying is required. The 42 footer will have one more section only used for lighter weight loads and low winds taking it to 50 feet. Top sections will be able to be pinned so they will not extend for lower level shots.

Just got a van for the gear, heli, masts, computer, printers etc. Just adding the mounts etc. Should be able to rock and roll early spring.

Oh yeah...

Chris's masts are GREAT.
The 42' currently resides in my partners garage.
Hopefully we can get ours up and running soon.

Chris,
Is that a new mast or did you paint it?
It looks more gold than I remember it.

Polecam

I spoke with Jody yesterday . Although he has several pole cams working for refinement of the idea, it is a seasonal item which will not be reoffered for several months. He has more on his plate than he can get done right now. The pole cam is on the site, tucked away in a corner. If you look carefully, you can find it. Happy hunting!
