I've found that with the Dean's Micro Antenna, getting the base/mount of the ant as far away from the esc helps reduce glitches. I also have extra antenna wire that you must leave when cutting the antenna down to install the dean's. Putting it back there takes up some of that extra...along with the part that is fed through the fuel line. I hate the way it looks really but......I'm out of zip ties right now but will clean up the wire routing after I hit the LHS on Monday.

The differences I see in that other lg kit is the frame pieces that screw to the BCP frame are different and there is only one battery mount.

I'm interested in buying the upgraded LG from Helidirect as well, but I can't seem to see $8 worth of difference between the two. The cheaper one has some added material where the battery compartment is supposed to be according to the above post, but a dremel would take care of this.

I agree, nothing worth $8 difference. This cheaper kit was not available when I ordered.

by the way...back to some of the initial comments in this thread...there is no noticable difference in height with these upgraded LG.

I painted the LG silver tonight...looks better IMO. I was already hating the off white plastic.

Its still raining out but I'll get a vid of it flying ASAP.

I was reading on rcuniverse and from the info. i got there the cheaper one is specifically for the CP and the Honey Bee CP2. I beleive with this one there is not modifying its just a complete bolt on. I am going to go with the cheaper one.

Hey FUTURAMILLE, What type / kind of paint are you
using on the plastic? Is it durable? I totally agree with you
on the white plastic as far as looks go. Thanks for the
info you provided on this upgrade!

I'm using RC model paint and no....its quite fragile.

There is an automotive plastic primer that will help allot and I'll be using it next time....I'll keep looking for the exact name and post if/when I find it.

Pactra Racing Finish - RC286 - Briliant blue
Testors (spray enamel) 1246 - Metalic Silver
Pactra TRIM TAPE - for the striping
Two coats of SPAZ STIX - 90109 Ultra Shine Clear Acrylic Enamel

Standard spray can stuff. The color is fine but the application/workability is horribly lacking...as is my Half *** design....

Now that it's flying the way I want it too, I'll focus on the looks a bit more.

If i were you i would use a light coat of that krylon fusion cuz its made for plastics and it will not chip or flake if you let it dry for like 5-6 days. Comes in many vibrant colors and will work good. Just pop a coat of clear on after its all dry and it will look nice and perfect. I used this stuff to paint the bumpers on my E-MAXX. I hit everything and the paint has chipped off yet. Its like it baked on their or something. Just remember to let it dry for the alloted days it says on the can and they may differ on the amount of coats applied to your project.
