I'm just starting to look into governors because I just moved up to a 50 size and think it may be worthwhile.

People seem to like the Throttle Jockey / TJ Pro, and I like the price!

Does this half to be tached to set it up, or is it programmable by gear ratio, so I just set it up and know that it will keep that RPM.

To get an accurate speed, you will need to tach it.

Additional Information

R/C Speed Nut is correct about having to tach the unit. They can be a little tricky to set up as the rpm calculator on their web site does not always work accurately.

Once you get it set up they work GREAT and hold the rpms without any re-adjustment of the ATV settings.

I had GV-1's on my machines and had some trouble with the sensor wires breaking and switched to the Throttle Jockey Pro units and I never looked back.

They are nice units at a reasonable price.

Usually someone at the flying field has a tach and will be more that glad to help you set up your machine.

Just some information that may be helpful.

You must get ATVs as close to 100% as possible and the only way to setup accurate HS is to tach it. The calculations in the manual are way off.
