I've had both, in fact, I just sold my last X-Cell to get a Raptor 70. There is a lot of difference in the helis. The X-Cell is more complex, precise, and higher quality than the Raptor, and it flies better. So why did I get rid of it? Because it was a pain in the A$$ to own. Set up takes forever, nothing self aligns, and there are a million pieces to it that are all much more expensive than a Raptor. However, they fly great, even if they are an older design, and you will NEVER find a heli that is as downright sexy as an X-Cell, get a graphite one with all the gold metal bits, and even if you never fly it, it'll make you drool every time you look at it.
The problem for me was in the amount of time and work it took to get one set up properly, and the amount of parts. WIth an X-Cell, you crash it and even before you buy parts, you know you have hours of work ahead of you to get it back in the air again, it's just the nature of the construction. WIth the Raptor, I find myself pushing the heli a lot more, because I know that when I dork it, not only are the parts a fraction of the cost of the X-Cell, but the repairs are going to be simple. It doesn't fly quite as well as the X-Cell, but it's not very far off, and I feel that the cost and simplicity far outweigh that little difference.
