I'm not sure how to search for this topic, b/c I'd get about a zillion hits off of "Dean's Antenna"......

Anyway, buried in a pseudo-related post while back someone mentioned the value/type for the sole electronic component that makes up a Dean's antenna. Could you please refresh my memory?

I'd like to make up a special one sans the bulky base for my Trex.

Thanks,
Ben Minor

Thanks guys.

The FlyWire post say 1.5 uH, while the first reply says 50 uH. Which is correct?

Ben, I know I have one where I removed the blue covering somewhere, but I know it's the 50MHz version so I'm not sure if that would help.

Possible alternate Antenna

Possibly another alternate antenna. I've been testing the stick on antenna on my helicopters. The antennas are from RC Direct. The rage is exactly the same as my wire antenna. Time will tell how it holds up in a crash. The antenna is self adhesive, and I place it on a piece of Lexon plastic.

It just happens that I have a Deans one-piece antenna that I stripped the coating off the other day.

The coil says "DELEVAN 1.5uH +/- 5%"
