Hi all. I recently converted my 30v2 to a 50v2, OS50 Hyper, MP2Q, Full QuickUK Head, washouth and swash. I also bought a 14MZ.

All I can say is wow. This thing has a TON of power. It's a HUGE difference. It feels so much more stable and I'm not intimidated by my baby autos. The larger blades make them very comfortable.

In retrospect, buying a 30 was a mistake, I should have started with the 50. Try to do auto's on a 30 was just pointless.

The QuickUK head is awesome.

The OS50H, I only had to tweak the needle one time. Far cry difference from my TT39.

All in all, this has been a great investment. Hopefully, I won't crash it for a while.

I did basically the same thing so I know how you feel. Put some TT Green paddles on it you will be even more impressed with the performance.

If you ain't crashin', you ain't tryin' 'arrrd enough

If you can afford the 14MZ then why not get a raptor 90?

Watching a guy with one of the first MZ's in the UK I asked him after his flight what happens when the screen saver kicks in?........

Anyway - the 50 Conversion... i'm SO pleased you are pleased with the performance - i've gone virtually the same route, but have only had a couple of tanks of CYB 30% running it in, in my garage. I've yet to get it up in the now greying skies of Yorkshire.

Regards
Matt.

I'll probably go out tomorrow or Saturday if the weather would warm up just a bit.

This thing screams - it's scary.

I was at Alabaster breaking in my engine, running it real rich, I went to idle in mid air (don't know why I did it) and the engine started running in REVERSE!!! Well, I lucked out and did an emergency auto (if you could call it that - more like a raging panic and preying to God and seeing $$$ flash before my eyes) - I had NO headspeed! By the time I figured out what was going on it lost about 30 feet and all the headspeed. I landed just right and only had about $20.00 worth of damage... Something about the OS50 Hypers and running real rich, it's a common problem - never would have thunk it!

I had exactly the same thing happen with my 50 hyper, although it was last winter and reasonably cold - even landed with the motor still running.

They should have a big yellow piece of paper in the box. I could have avoided the entire ordeal if I would have know it was a common problem.

I've seen it happen to only 2 50 Hypers, both in cold winter weather, mine is the only one I've seen do it whilst in flight
