My LHS invited me to join but I understand that they are having the 2005 F3C schedule instead of the 2006 F3C schedule.

Maybe next year at Hirobo Cup Hong Kong

Yes, they are using 2005. This is the last contest to use 2005 Schedule A. They are even ommitting 2 maneuvers, the hovering triangle and the rolling stall turn. This will be my first time to join an international event while my two other teamates are veterans of regional events as well as the Worlds in Spain last August.

I have never travel out of the country to participate in contest but I will love to do so. Looking at the calendar, I'm thinking of Hirobo Cup Hong Kong

I think there's also a Asia-Pac F3C contest in Malaysia and another F3C contest in Japan next year.

We're finally back from China. My two companions both got podium finishes while I placed 12th. Alvin Alcantara successfully defended his title while younger brother Mark took 3rd Place. James from Hongkong took 2nd. The host Radar did a very good organizing job and there were lots of excellent pilots and machines. 26 year old Hirobo Flight Staff Mr. Kogo of Japan made several demos of the 2006 F3C schedule as well as 3D routines with his Freya Evolution. Interestingly, he did both with the same transmitter programming, only changing the main blades, semi symmetrical for F3C and full symmetrical for 3D. I understand he was using idle up 3 for his 3D.

The trend for Hirobo regarding the rotor head is also changing towards the underslung flybar, just like that on the Evo 90. My companions were using SSR-VII converted to underslung flybar by changing the center hub and a few other parts (borrowed from Evo 90). The results are a much more stable and predictable hover as well as good characteristics for the new aeros.

Looks like we'll be back in HK for the Hirobo Cup this March 2006 with the new F3C schedule A.

The contest is available for admission now. It is on 25 & 26 March 06.

Contest will be based on 06 F3C manuvers with the 1st and 2nd hovering manuvers removed. I guess the reason is because there will be a lot of people to participate.

So hurry up and see you in HK.

Will have to skip that.

I have to go back for army training during that period. Every able bodied Singapore males have to do about 2 weeks of army training every year.
