From what I have read on here, this seems to be a pretty good set-up that Modefo's offers.

Delux 450 XL CDE Combo
Price: $589.00

TRex 450 XL CDE
Mega 16-15-3
CC Phoenix 35
4x HS 56's
GY240
TP2100

Would you recommend getting something different? I will probably get 2 more batteries (I have a Triton, that should charge these batteries right?). Besides a rx and crystal, would you get anything else? I would like to just order it all from Modefo's. Thanks in advance.

I would recommend checking out GranRc before making any decision, they have some good combo deals and good prices on almost everything else, great service. From what I’d read the Futaba GY 401 has better performance.

your definitely going to the rite place, Wes will take care of you,
and yes that is a grate deal, considering that same package sold for almost a grand, 6 months ago, your triton should be fine for charging 3 cell lipo.s if it were me i would go for the HDE model and the 401 gyro,
i have both v-2 and cde with the same mega and cc35 setup your getting, on the cde model i have some glitching problems with the cc35
i think it just BC the cde overheats the bec on the cc35....but i dun know it may be just my setup too, i never have any problems with my v-2
so i fly it most of the time, anyway good luck

So is the HDE better? Instead of the 240, should I get the 401? If I get the 401, should I get a different tail servo? Lots of questions, sorry.

I couldn't find the 9650 in-stock. I will probably get the 56 for the tail. I sent Modefo's an email to ask about pricing.

Hmmm..

Why not just order the Align 450 SE (CCPM) version that way you wouldn't have to worry of the bling, motor and ESC. It comes with their new motor and 35amp brushless esc that has governor mode. $520 on preorder (save20) check out modefo's site:

http://www.modefosheli.com/heli_s_stock___custom

Plus:

3 x HS56
1 x HS50

GY401

ThunderPower balancer

======================

In the long run, you'd be blinging it anyways..

Why not just order the Align 450 SE (CCPM) Kit only version that way you wouldn't have to worry of the bling. $420 on preorder (save$20), check out Modefo's site.

CC35

Medusa Bec system (optional)

450TH motor (worth the money)

3 x HS56 (a must have for cyclic controls)
1 x HS50 (will do the tail control fine)

GY401 (must have, don't settle for less)

ThunderPower balancer (a must have, save your battery investment)

Wes, will take care of that.. he might be able to give you a discount.. Probably.. =)

In the long run, you'd be blinging it anyways..

I checked out grandrc.com, they have some good pricing as well. Is the Se worth the money? or just upgrade it when it breaks?

Hi blockatvalpo,

After doing some research, I'm thinking of getting a similar combo like yours from Modefo (minus the receiver). How much did you pay for yours ?

Just out of curiousity, I can't seem to find the answer as to whether to go with HDE or CDE. Is it just the more complex setup issue for CDE or is there any other fundamental differences ? Btw, I don't quite like the yellow color *sorry too many questions*

Btw, this would be my first heli if I proceed with the order
I'm just getting into the hobby and found the forum an excellent starting point.

Thanks in advance.

Heli Neli, I PMed you the price. I rather not post the price on here. What radio are you going to be using with the heli? I will be using the 8103, so it can handle the CPE set-up. If you have the basic heli radio, get the HDE set-up, unless you know it can handle CCPM. From what I have read, the CPE is a lot smoother, but is also harsher on the servos. If you go HDE, you can get by with cheaper servos. The CPE needs better servos. Hopefully it shows up today, but we will see.

I would never recommend lesser servos for an HDE! The collective servo has to do all the work by itself for example! A CDE has 3 servos working together and can be more tolerant of servos with less torque. All Helis fly better with servos that center well, an atribute not found in some "cheaper servos." My HDE responds much better in all axis since I changed to the HS56 servos.

I would avoid making recommendations on things you have not tried yourself.
