I have a 12v 7amp gel cell for my power panel, which powered the glow ignitor and starter. The Sirius Pro sucks a god amount of power, so if I need to charge, I plug it into my car's cig socket.

Triton works fine if you set it up correctly. False peaks are eliminated by getting rid of the cheap thin charge wires that come with it. Mine are long enough to be able to reach the ground from the hood of the car. I made them up from 18 gauge wire from hangtimes hobbyies and used deans connectors so i can switch any to any type of fitting and charge all my batteries from it. Just like another outlet.
it's still a good reliable charger.

.
I use the Triton and highly recommend it. User friendly, and very capable. My bud had an Elite which let him down, he now has a Triton and likes it.
I have other Hobbico products and they work well tho.

Triton isn't a bad charger, I have 2 of them. Once in a while they do false peak my NIMH packs. It is a big plus that the Triton an do 24 cells (my starter runs on 16) and 12 volt Gel Cells. It is a bit on the conservative side on Li and it can only do 3 cells.

I like the ICE charger, has the current capablities to charge my 3300 NIMH at 4+amps (Triton only gets to about 2 amps), very good flexibility on charger set-up, very easy menu system, can discharge up to 5 amps and charge up to 8, and handle 4 Li. Problem is though, it could only handle 10 cells and will not charge Gel Cells.

Both of these cahrgers do well using a 12 volt battery, but really need a good power supply that can put out 13.8 volts at 20 amps (depending on needs).

Is that a 6s 5000 in your pocket,

I have had the same thing happen, Gel Cell worked great for several years, then one day, would only put out a quarter of the capacity......

I'm thinking of buying a Pro-Peak Prodigy 2 charger but I want to build it into my field box. Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the case?

I have a couple of chargers but my two favorite are Triton and The Duratrax ICE.

The Triton is fast and easy to use but limited on charging lipo, you can only go to 2.5 amps, so if you have lipos that are over 2500mah it will take longer to charger.

The ICE is not as fast to use but it can go up to 8 AMPs for lipos.

I think they are both great chargers, the ICE has more features and bells and whisles

115mm x 77mm x 30mm

dont forget on the long side, you need additional room for
the input/output power cables.

ooo... the pro peak prodigy II looks nice, anyone else with prior experience with it.
It's a great little charger! small and quite capable.

It doesn't allow you to set the delta peak though.

I have an issue w/ it in that it seems to false peak early,
esp. if the battery has just come off a discharge (ie. you
just did a flight or a D->C cycle).

The US importer is sending me a new, calibrated unit.
