I purchased a Walkera Dragon Fly 4 (Fixed Pitch) Heli with a 7.4v li ion 1600mah battery. My flight times are to short, average about 2-3 of being able to break ground effect. I'm considering upgrading to li po batteries. Also, I would like a little more power. It has a hard time recovering from turns. Would more volts equal better perforance/response times? Is anyone using a 11.1 v lip? If so which size and brand would you recommend for this heli?

I'm using TP 2S 1320's on my GWS Mini Dragonfly (basically the same heli) and they work great. I've never time it, but I estimate 15-20min hovering in the living room, with more than enough power to send it to the ceiling.

If your li-ion battery is healthy you should get longer flying times than 2-3 minutes - a 1600 mah sounds a bit heavy though. It could be that the brushes on your main motor is wearing out.

I use the same 2S TP 1320 on my fixed pitch piccolo and got almost 25 minutes flying time with brushless main and brushed tail.

What comes around goes around.
