Yea indeed I'm sitting here putting serious thought into it and you are right it is a bit of an up and down one. See I think the theory to chuck it is aimed at the close tolerances needed on the ID of the guide to prevent the pushrod from moving left/right/up/down inside the guide yet the ID needs to be big enough to get the rod to move freely. Now see the problem is if the ID were made to a even slightly a too tight squeeze you have a seriously huge amount of contact area between the guide and the rod which can make things really move difficult. And on the other hand if it's not tight enough that pushrod moving up/down/left/right inside the guide is your number one source of slop or inaccuracy in the system. Now on a conventional pushrod setup with guides you'll notice the guides wearing the pushrod (Like I think was your original problem on the CS) very quickly as these are a very tight squeeze in there so the pushrod can't move. Now you have to bare in mind that on the conventional setup the guides are put in every 20odd cm so the pushrod has a more fixed guidence and route it has to follow. Now the tolerances between the guides and the pushrod can be much tighter to achieve a smoothe system because of the lesser contact area. BUT yea now you can get a pushrod that bends easier. BUT ALSO you have to remember you only have 20cm odd of rod to bend and the chances are less compared to the 1meter long (I'm just stabbing in the dark on the length) pushrod with not so much guidance.

Either way like I said those are the things I'm weighing up but in the end I can't really say which is truly better in the long run. Oh and I also use some of this sleeve between a couple of pushrod guides to avoid the pushrod itself from getting grinded by things in close range. Like for instance close to my tail boom bracket the pushrod gets quite close to the bracket itself and I have a long piece of sleeve between the pushrod guides front and back of the bracket. Very good tip and works well!

I still have all the supports on the heli. Just take the little square plastic holders out, wrap very small peace of fine sandpaper around the pushrod guid and put it back. Solid as can be - supported the whole way down not every 20cm. On my first CS I had to cut the carbon rod to get the square plastics of and the pushrod guid on. I had a metal tube that worked fine to join the rod again (same as per end peaces). I made a huge mistake on an inverted auto, trying to flip out at +-4m high and basically wrote the heli off. I pulled the rod out of the guid and could not see any wear - after +- 2 years.

"See I think the theory to chuck it is aimed at the close tolerances needed on the ID of the ....." Even if it moves 1mm up and down will it have any effect from front to back?

It is a conspiracy being staged by all the competitors in the market. The Vibe DOES not and NEVER will exist. JR is being paid to advertise the Vibe so that everyone will get fired up and want one, then when they get tired of waiting, they will buy a heli from the other manufacturers who are a part of this scheme. I'm positive Hirobo and Miniature Aircraft are involved with this. All the Vibes we have seen at the RC heli events are just mock-ups using modified Vigor components. The White House has all the classified information on the Vibe conspiracy, so it will be many years before the truth really comes out.

When my Vigor dies, hello EVO or Fury !!!

Sorry, but you are So wrong. I've seen the Vibe and it fly's Great. My club has JR reps flying them. I don't know any inside Info as I'm sure they don't either.

If you can't wait, buy something else. If I could get one, I would surely wait.

Well, I have waited until now to post to this thread, I too am waiting for a Vibe. I saw Scott Grey and Rob Giles beat there Vibes in some incredible 3D at the KW Flying Dutchman Scale fly-in back in September, and had a close look at both of there heli's. Since then I have been hooked and waiting for delivery, like everyone else. Last night I made my way up to Flite-Craft Hobbies (the home base of Scott Grey), and had a chat with the fellow who was working there. When I mentioned that I wanted a Vibe, he scoffed and said "they dont exist, but Scott Grey has like 7 in his basement!!". So as much as I would love to own a Vibe, I am not going to hold my breath any longer. I will get another 90, and possibly sell it when (if) the Vibe makes it into the publics hands. Come on JR, all the hype and no product? I even read a review in RC Helicopter mag, its all just hype. SHOW ME THE VIBE, OR LOSE MY BUSINESS!!!

Just my 2c

Well, if there is as many of them in the pros hands it means that all machinery need to build them are ready, correct?

If so, I just can’t imagine why they are not at the shelves yet. Sorry but I don’t know any business that hold a new product release with no MAJOR motive. There must be some big issue that we don’t know and my bet is for a non technical one.

What could be possible delaying it?

Yeah, it's a real non-technical one....too many damned Vigor CS's on retailer's shelves and, in God only knows how many warehouses. JR really "screwed the pootch" on this one. If they bring out the Vibe, they and their retailers eat the remaining "on the shelf" Vigor CS's and, because JR and all the "pro's" flying the damned things have managed to "somehow" get their hands on one and have publicized the Vibe in front of event crowds, everyone put their money back in their pockets to wait on the Vibe, so now we have a veritable stand-off. And, the only entity that deserves to lose, and, believe me they deserve to lose their pants is JR. For what it's worth I now view JR as about as low on the list as they can get from both a reputation and credibility standpoint. And, you boys on the JR Team better follow Curtis' lead and learn that JR stands for "Just Retire."

Somebody once said here on RR that JR could give a "hoot in hell" about the American market. Well, JR, why don't you and Horizon pack your stuff and head back or to Japan. Vario learned a costly lesson about this kind of crap...maybe JR needs to learn the same lesson.

Ok guys, I've recently talked to Curtis about the Vibe conspiracy, and from what I understand it is coming out, they are just working on getting enough kits in stock and getting the instruction manuals produced. Curtis (from what he said in October) was under the impression they would be out at the end of October. But things to get delayed and they really couldnt sell kits without instruction manuals. As far as the statement that Japan doesnt give a damn about the US market. I feel thats inaccurate, the US market represents an enormous target market. Any remotely decent business mind would never miss out on that amount of business.
We all are just going to have to wait, and when it does come out it will be worth it. Also I dont think they are waiting for CS's to be sold, as most retailers I've noticed are all out of stock of those heli's. Although I could be wrong. I'm going to see Curtis next weekend, and I'll try to get some more inside information on this delay.

Thanks bud.... I think its pretty obvious he was being sarcastic, my point was that even people who are close to a very good source of JR info are not expecting a public release anytime soon. And if you dont like info I post...well......well..... I'll just have to quit this hobby!!!!!!

HELI3DFLYR - just to make it clear - I did not think you are stupid, but the guy saying it to you...... If he was sarcastic - well sorry then, I did not see his face or hear his tone. I like the info you posted but not the ravings of an insane man

If you buy something else I think you will be disapointed. I almost bought a different brand (no names) and got the oportunity to fly one and decided to fly my CS for another year if need be.

nocontrol,, there is no doubt in my mind that if I bought another 90 (unVibe ) that I would be disappointed, especially after seeing them up close and in person. The fit and finish and quality of materials is top notch, bar none. The fact that I cant get my hands on one after seeing what they are capable of only compounds my frustration, if I let my frustrations vent a bit, I appologize. I am positive I am not the only one left scratching my head about this, there have been lots of theories talked about, too many CS's on the shelf sounds like a pretty good one to me,,,, but I havnt seen a CS in any of my LHS's in years. One thing I think we can agree on: waiting sucks!!!!

2 wait or not 2 wait, that is the question!!!!!

Cheers,

Alex

Actually I too was being sarcastic with my previous post. Although I won't be buying one right away (price is a bit steep for me right now, for the flying I do anyway), I do like the vibe. I have heard nothing but good things about it and I have seen a few fly. I still fly a Vigor STD, and I know how nice it flys, so the Vibe must really be a fine heli. The problem is that Horizon/JR had sent tons of promotion packets to the LHS's months ago and have not yet produced a product. This is just very poor planning. Horizon/JR has gotten everyone excited but the excitement is wearing off and it is no surprise that some people are migrating to other vendors.

Anyway, hopefully somebody will get off there butts and get the Vibe out on the shelves. Xmas is quickly approaching, and what better way to tell your wife or girlfriend what you really want for Xmas (probably won't get it, but it would be worth trying)!!!

HELI3DFLYR - all of a sudden I hate you just as much as a lot of other people that also saw the Vibe up close and in person I have only seen pictures and my frustration is at boiling point so I can only imagine what it must feel like to see it in person but can not buy it - #$%^%$&*)#!%^$&*%^$#*&^)%&^ -

"if I let my frustrations vent a bit, I appologize" - now I have to appologize more than you - I honestly think we will have it this year - Why I say this I will not tell but I have reason to believe it. - Lets hope!!!

I flew a Vibe all weekend and if I were you, I would wait. From what I was told, by a good source, the parts are made, but Horizon is getting the kits together and putting the finishing touches on the instruction manuals.

They will be here soon and they WILL be worth the wait.
