To Canada will be 7-10 working days, as quoted from my Post Office.
I can send it DHL or similar, but you will get stung with other charges.

Best motor seems to be the 2208/20 1880 kV. The set up was originally designed with that motor in mind. You can go as low as 1300kV and still has good climb out. All on three cells. 20C pack will provide tons of power. Yet to try a 2208/34 on 4 cells.

Just built one for a club member and stuck the MS Twister 20 on it. Expecting the same performance. He will be flying it today.

Had an indoor meet last night and put the 3D pro in big time. Hit the ceiling pretty hard and came down like brick. Will post details soon. Was going like a rocket till then. Purely dumd thumbs.
My original ally top deck had finally cracked and landing gear destroyed. No gear, belt, boom, or tail damage. Total of $10.00 in parts.
Head had broken ball links on the blade grips and see saw. Bades had a couple of nicks.

Flew the belted FP and Hornet flybarless rest of the night. Got some video to post soon.

I recieved the belt drive today for my 3dpro and i am realy confused!!
Non of the holes to bolt on the mast tower line up with the 3dpro mast
and also the length of the main shaft is to long to fit on this mod..
also the belt gear for the motor wont fit my century motor..
I understood that this would upgrade my 3dpro.
And why would it be designed to work with a CP hummer when its the 3dpros that everyone is having tail troubles??
also the instructions are for a hornet or FP ??!?!

this will not work for the 3dpro !!

My 3dpro is all in peices
Its causing me some frustration!!.

I had the same problem with the 3D Pro servo tower mounting holes being incorrectly located. birdmanheli is sending a replacement upper plate to correct the problem on mine. I am using the AXI 2208/20 motor and the drive pulley fits that motor perfectly. I believe the shafting isuue was mentioned earlier in this thread or on RCGroups and the solution was to use a HummingBird Elite CP main shaft.

Thats a shame because I didnt count on using 2 different helis to upgrade my 3dpro..
I think he used a HB CP and not a 3dpro to put this kit together..
More designed for the CP and not the 3dpro..

Hi Upperking,

Sorry for any confusion caused.

The top plate as mentioned by Boyd have been send out wrong, as I have found out this week. I am machining up a few more myself and double check for fit. You will get another one. Was to send a quick email when sent.

I sent a new extended antirotation arm to be used with the 3D pro shaft. Please let me know if you did not receive it. The Elite cp shaft can be used with the original antirotation, but may limit some neg pitch when with the original thick shaft collar.

Instructions and my posts say the design was for a motor with 1300-1880 kV. These have 3.175mm shaft. I can send out a new pinion with 2..0 or 2.3mm bore but you will have to watch out for the kV's.
Also the instructions are for general setup and belt change. The antirotaion setup was missing and will be added in future.

No excuses on my part, but will endevour to get it right. Your feed back is appreciated as I need the set up seen through different eyes.

No problem..
I am at a stand still with this pro
Was realy excited about ttrying your mod out .
a never got those parts and reading that you mentioned also
the landing gear I wont be using that came with the kit,, the stock or Bglass gear upgrade wont fit very snug because the yellow frame is not wide enough ..
A few pulley option sizes would be a nice choice for us
this is the one i have, im not sure the shaft size..

I can sort out new lower tray and send them out. I re-drilled my landing gear to suit. But a new tray would be best.

The link has no information, need the bore size. From memory it is 2.0mm?

Two new ally upper decks have been machined, one for Upperking and the other for Boyd.

New 10T pinion with 2.30mm bore and 3D Pro anti-rotation also ready for Upperking. (Double check your package as I sure one anti rot. was sent).
Should look like below PDF

http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/..._rot_3d_pro.pdf

Also re-designed the lower deck with dedicated mounts for 3D Pro and H2 landing gear. My own landing gear will still also fit. Will machine ASAP.
Will send together in a day or so, or in your case Upperking, I can send the pinoin, upperdeck and antirot now and the other later. You can still easily modify the lower deck you have to take the 3Dro landing gear (just 2 holes) which will get you in the air quickly.

Upperking, I have sent the pinoin, ally upper deck and antirot today, as I will need the weekend to complete the lower deck and send on Monday.

Boyd, I can send the ally upper deck today or on Monday?

Had two problems at indoor last night, firstly my RX failed and secondly popped a link on the blade grip, both as a result of the last crash I guess. Both were fixed and had a couple of good flights to finish the night.

Unfortunately the other 3D pro, with Trex tail, was not flying due to head problems. Everyone was reved up to see it inverted and inside-out!

Well I got all the parts and put this puppy together and tried a test flight and didn’t get very good head speed not even enough to lift the heli off the ground. so I changed my motor and put on my century out runner knowing it had lots more power and this thing has to go up and same thing didn’t have the power it needed. So I check everything took it apart switched things around, I even put the tail boom mount on backwards and then changed it back and then tried it again and my motor got so hot it started smoking in a hover?!?!? So took it apart and noticed there was a Teflon divider in the back part of the boom in between the belt and thinking this could cause rub I took it out and then tried it again. Same thing.. Some reason the belt causes allot of drag. Even when I spin it
I think it does it only during power with the motor. I checked the tension and tried everything I could and I finally gave up because I don’t want to smoke a second motor.. Bird said he uses a different motor But I think that shouldn’t matter, I spouse if you put a T-rex motor on it with a big battery it might solve the power problem.!?!?
Maybe the pulley and tail pulley gear ratio might be causing it who knows..

150.00 for frame and 49.00 for motor
very expensive test

I really can't offer more advice than already through the PM. What you have is what we have.
I know the motor you are using is way too hot for this setup and will make all the difference.
Taking the Teflon sepperator is not good, as you will naturally rely on very tight belt tension to keep the belt from rubbing.
I have built alot of micros and experimented with almost every combination, and still stick with the 1880kV. The only one left to try is a 4 cell on 1100kV.
Guys here, including myself, are very happy with the setup and can honestly say, no other micro is as easy to setup and maintain as this is.
We are using the 1880kV motors with unlimited power on 20C packs. We are destroying factory Century tail parts and now have converted the tail to a Trex.
Interest here has grown so much that I have invested in upgrading all the fibergalss parts to carbon, making new nylon landing gear and the Trex tail etc.
Like to know how the other belted helis are going as feed back will always be an investment in a better machine.

More reviews?

I'd especially appreciate videos where the frame was being put through 3d maneuvers, show that it can handle flight stresses.

I'm a noob on an FP now, but I'm building several Hornets, if this frame works out to be the Godsend it might be to the micro community, I'd line up to get one (or two!).

A well-running belt drive might be less efficient than a perfectly set-up main gear and shaft driven tail set-up, but given these micros are overpowered already, I think the benefits outweigh a minor power loss, if the design is more bullet-proof than the more compex (and fragile) gear and shaft drives.

I'm rooting for you, birdman, just like to see more vids and more testimonials.

Thanks johnnyb.

Vids and reviews are on the way.

Got some new camera gear, cable internet (just yesterday, finally!), and been allowed some space on work's server to host them.
Now just need to be together in one place take, at the same time to take them!

Heres a pic taken by my 8yr old son with the new Pentex digi SLR. Was crusing around and he was taking shots at random. Didn't know till I checked the memory card. Nice surprise.

This my FP with altered head (Hiller mixing). Flew in a friends lounge room the other night, figure eights in less than a 2m square space. They took some pics, should be interesting to see!
