I have had the same success with my 8UHPS and 9CHP. I tried the original heli's tx crystal in the Futaba tx module and it worked (channel 19) so I picked up a Futaba channel 19 tx module. The same module works for both tx's (8U and 9C). I didn't have range issues with the heli's crystal, but didn't want to risk it.

Huge improvement over the stock tx.

Bringing back an old thread, thought this would be the best place to post.
I have a Hitec Optic 6 that I am trying to get to work with my blade cp. I have two sets of crystals, one from e-flite, and the other from Hitec on ch 21. They are on different chanels. The hitecs will not work, I have proved this by trying to use them in the stock tx. So all I can do is use the Eflite crystals, but they don't work with the hitec tx, which I don't understand. When I try to use them I get a lot of twiching and uncontrolable movement.
If I bought the futaba short crystal on ch 21, should it work with the hitec tx crystal on ch 21?
Also if I bought an eflite crystal on ch 21, will it work with the hitec tx crystal?
For all of you who are using the Optic 6 with the blade cp, what is the working combo for you?
Thanks for all the help.
