Hey Guys,

Hope yall can help with this one. Tail kicks when hovering in idle up. Not rythmic yet happening in somewhat predictable manner.

Raptor V1 30 401gyro with mvp muffler. Running futaba electronics.

I have added lately:
onboard voltage meter
401 gyro
mvp muffler
new sanyo 2700mah battery

What I tried to solve problem:
reduce gain on gyro from 75 to 50
playing with both mixture needles(alot)-doesnt seem to make a difference, but im not sure what i am doing either
checked tail to servo arm

Any Ideas?

Belt slipping on the TR drive?

Engine tuning a bit rich, allowing the motor to be going back and forth between a rich four stroke and a lean two stroke, delivering uneven power?

tail belt was loose, tightened with no change to tail kick. May be richness but how do I adjust it to get rid of it(im not the best at mixture settings, been a long time since I had to do it)
It doesnt kick underneath idle up. which screw do I adjust (high end screw?) if I do then do I have to adjust low end also? any link to a sight to help with this would be great.

Two things. engine tuning and rf interference. Are you PPM or PCM ?
If you are PPM, then it could be rf noise generated by static on the belt or it could be a bearing in need of lubrication, most likely in the start shaft area. Lack of lube causes metal to metal contact at high frequency in the bearing, = rf noise

Let me throw this out. How would the 401 gyro react to a low onboard battery. I have a new battery and heard the type I have lose their charge at the end very quickly. Could this be the case? Could it be a bad battery?

The reason I ask is because different mixture settings just does not seem to help at all.

It was the mixture all the way. I could have sworn it was electronics but it wasnt.
