Hi all,
I am coming from the E-heli with the Zoom-400 and Trex -450.
Just got the opportunity to buy a Raptor 50V2. As I have bought a FF7 with the Zoom-400, the FF7 box contained in the standard packaging 3 x FP-S148.
The question : can I use them on my new Rapy? Any restrictions using those servos with my new bird ? For which function could I use them ? (cyclic, throttle, rudder ?..) I don't do any aerobatics !
Thanks a lot for your advises.

Throttle: Fine.
Cyclic: OK if you only hover and fly around gently.
Tail: OK if you have a GY240 and only hover and fly around gently, no good on a 401.
Collective: No go.

I used Futaba 3001s in my Raptor 30 V1 for a long time without problems. They are S148s with a bearing. At one time you could buy a case top and bearing to convert them to the 3001 spec. Anyway, I would agree with ohs that they are OK on cyclic for hovering around. I wouldn't use it on collective. In fact 3 of our club members had failures using JR 539s on collective. They are "ordinary" servos but with much more torque than a 3001.

The frequencies in the Raptor 50 seem to create problems for many servos. The only one that everyone agrees works well is the Futaba 9252 (digital servo with 6.5 kgcm of torque). For the sake of preventing a possible crash rather invest in a Futaba 9252 for collective. I have bought 3 of them for my 50SE.

Let us know how it goes!

Rob.

Put a Airtronics 94758Z on your collective and you will never go back!
