Had my first ding yesterday lunchtime. Flying around quite the thing looping quite high up and attempting some rolls. Pulled into a loop and then went to inverted hover and started to bring the model lower. Case of dumb thumbs I reckon and managed to slam her into the deck.

Fortunately I have a crash kit that was purchased at the same time as the heli and a pair of nearly new nhp blades, additional parts set me back about £15.

Damage that I can make out...

The main shaft looks to be ok.
The tips (approx 6") came off both blades (original woodies).
One of the elevator "A's" broke
The aileron linkages bent.
Skids off and broken but carbon stiffener survived
Tail boom creased.
Canopy pins broken
Slight ding in the canopy itself but will be repaired with a small piece of plastic and epoxy.

Can anyone proved me some pointers as to what else should be checked for damage prior to taking her up again?? I have checked out the radio and all seems well, servos moving correctly with no jumping or unusual noises noticed - will jut open the receiver strong box and check that the aerial was not snagged.

Should be back in the air on Tuesday all being well but missing out on another weekend's flying..

Make sure you check your spindle and make sure your main shaft is straight. Roll it on a mirror or glass to see if its straight. Other then that, I would cheack your main gear and tail belt to see if any teeth are missing.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Repairs are under way.

I have checked the gears and belt and nothing missing. Tailboom has been replaced - just need to CA the guides on.
Feathering shaft replaced as it had a nice bend in it!!
Main shaft replaced.
Flybar straightened (ruler used and roled on flat surface to check).

Just need to wait for Monday now and hopefully the order from Midland will come through with the final pieces..
