Ok, i was told not to put the ball link on the outer hole on the washout arm, to keep it on the inner one.

But im looking at everyones raptor setup and its always on the outer hole.

What are the pros and cons of putting it on the outer hole than the inner?

I have a raptor 50 with all metal head.

For any given input to the arm, if the ball is in the outer hole you get more movement. The inner hole cuts the movement down a little.
So the outer hole makes it a bit more lively.

Who told you to put it inside, and what was their reasoning? For a rank beginner, the inside slows the cyclic slightly. I set-up my beginners with outside, and EXPO.

One word to describe it....

Dammn!

My roll rate and flip rate was SO SLOW before,, i moved it to the outer arms and did a test flight.. WOW.. my Raptor can flip now!

Now im wondering what its gonna be like with the V Paddles and V Blades on,, im excited now!...

To tell you how slow it was before, i couldnt do aileron tic-tocs or regular tic-tocs, it would drop to much, it couldnt get over fast enough to keep it in the air.. now i have no problem whatsoever!

The difference sounds like night & day. I wouldn't have thought that it would have made that much of a difference.

Try Geenies on the outer hole One Hell of a ride!!!
I have that on my Rappy 30 V2 and have a blast!
I like it because the 30 can't do the BIG loops and rolls My Hyper 50 Raptor can,,so for now I have Geeenie paddles on both. The 30 on the outer and the 50 on the inner. For me a nice change of pace and change of character between the two helis I hate these F%*ing Faces

What paddles you all running? I wouldn't go from black paddles on the inner hole to greenies on the outer hole in one step though ,,
Stupid faces again,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

back to the hole question: I had a lucky escape yesterday when the tail rotoe servo arm broke off. I was hovering about five feet and it landed level in long grass without any obvious damage [other than the servo arm] So ths morning i am replacing the arm with a stronger one but that is marginally longer.....

1. should i go with the middle hole which would be the same as the broken arm or take advantage of the extra length available and use the outer hole?

2. Could the cause of the broken arm have been vibration? also the ball link is quite stiff as it rotates around the ball..should i do anything about this?

any help appreciated.

If it's the Futaba arms, they have been known to break. 401 gyros like about 17mm out on the arm, and the limit at or near 100%. I like to use the wheels, or Dubro HD arms.

Thanks for your prompt reply Al....

seems strange that i can be sat here in England, in my dressing gown, drinking tea and thinking about the problem of the day. Ten minutes later I get some help from a guy in New York about my servo arm....... that can't be bad can it! 'more tea anyone....?'

thanks
