Just got the new Nokia 6101 and it is a great phone. It is amazing how much stuff they can pack into these little things, and the services that are available. This one comes of course with a built in camera, but also has a built in FM radio that doesnt sound half bad when you plug in the included ear buds. I know it is not the badest boy on the block, but it sure does do the trick. Our local news channel has just launched a new web site totally devoted to web enabled cell phones. On it you can get News, weather and sports, even the local radar, all at the click of a button. What will they think of next. It seams like the TV cell phone idea has made it big in China and should reach here soon, that is going to be cool. What kind of cell phone do you have and what would you like to see cell phone makers add to cell phones?

As a driver in multiple states, I just want my phone to work. All this money to make them smaller and pack them with features seems useless to me. Make advancements in service area and customer service. I have a Nextel I305, military spec'd. I have yet to have a SINGLE problem with damage. This phone takes a beating and just keeps working.

Hey Person, they have those. They are called laptops!

There are phones with 2MP-3MP cameras on them now. I was reading that they are coming out with a 5MP camera phone soon.

I have a Motorola V3, I just use it to talk so it's fine for me. The V3 does about everything I need it for. I like it because it's small and the battery last a long time 12 days on stand by. I paid over $1,100.00 AUD for it here. They have dropped down to $800.00 now, because the black one came out.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Don't get the Razor. I thought it looked cool but the volume sucks and it is still a bit wide. I sent it back. The phone I have now is a Nokia and it is great.

Oh, the V3 is the Razor? Isn't the volume a bit low? I hope $800 is equal to around $230 US.

$800.00 AUS comes out to $608.00 USD. I bought it when is was $1,100.00 AUS or $836.00 USD. Buying a phone outright cost a lot. If you buy it on a 2 year contract then it's a little bit cheaper. Things here are a bit more expensive then in the States. I should know as I use to live in the States for 38 years before I moved here.

Don't know about the volume sucking? It really loud when your talking on it, unless your deaf, then it would suck.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Maybe it is fine. The one I had kept cutting out and with a little music in the background I had to keep my finger in my other ear. This was while at the store. The store clerk said it worked fine. It cut out on him and he claimed the guy just hung up on him . I don't know where cingular gets their employees. I think if you fail 8th grade you are automatically given a Cingular uniform. But given its problems, it is possible I just got a lemon. It is $230 here with the 2 year plan and I think even a little cheaper if bought online. $320 if bought outright. I wish I had a better experience with it.

I recently picked up a similar Nokia phone, the Nokia 6255i from Alltel. After several years of really crappy phones after my super reliable digital startac failed, I am very pleased with this new phone. I upgraded the storage memory by 512 MB so I keep about 8 hours of MP3's on it. The radio works great too! Radio and MP3 automatically switch to ringer, then hands free phone mode, and back to music after the call ends. Very convenient for when you're working on something in the garage or yard.

Phones I learned to stay away from:

Any modern Motorola, Kyocera and especially LG junk - particularly the LG 5550)/

If you want to get local news, weather, or sprots on your web enabled cell phone, type in http://www.localwireless.com/wap/?zc= in your phones browser and enter your local city or zip. It works with a lot of US cities. Ususally, the local news will advertise it, as ours is K4ToGo.com. It works quite well, check it out.

Geez - How did you guys function way back in the dark ages before cell phones??

I don't own one and am not really interested in buying one. How much info
and blabbing does a pewrson need when away from his home?? People everywhere it seems have this new cell phone appendage growing out of their ears. Watch out for those driving and talking on their cell phones - they can be dangerous.

Sony Ericsson P910a. You will never want another phone. My phone does everything. AND I've got a 512 MB memory stick duo in it. I can rip DVD's to my phone and watch them, and with the 512 memory stick, I can fit 3 movies in my phone. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, synchronises with outlook, internet capable, MP3s and records and plays video. What more could you want?
