I have a Raptor 60 and am ready to hook up my electronics- servos, gyro, switch, batttery and reciever. Does anyone have a link to a schematic or picture or drawing or ANYTHING that I can use as a guide for the wiring? I know where everthing goes (although the instructions are basically visual only) but want to be sure I hook everything up right.

Also, do I need a "gyro amp"? It was in my instructions for assembly but did not come with either my transmitter or gyro.

Sorry for another stupid question.

your raidio manual should be all you need in most cases for hookup to your recever.

In general a gyro has 3 leads, some have 2.

There's a female 3 wire servo lead that the rudder servo plugs into.
There's a male 3 wire servo lead that plugs into the rudder channel on your reciever.

There may be an optional 1 wire lead (the 401 is a good example) that lets you control gain remotely. That would plug into the gear channel (usually 5) or an Aux channel on the reciever.

A gyro amp is a feature of some gyros but not all so you may or may not have that. What gyro do you have? What type of radio?

Thank you

Thanks guys for the help- I won't be flying this thing for MONTHS even though I'm almost finished. I will fly a sim and the electric heli I bought first.

barracudahockey,

My gyro is a AVCS GY401 and my radio control system is a Futaba 9 CHP super.

I have not read the manual yet, but how do you know what #s are for what controls? For example, how will I know which outlet/channel is for the rudder?

Futaba is
1-Aileron (left right cyclic)
2-Elevator (fore aft cyclic)
3-Throttle
4-Rudder (gyro 3 wire plug)
5-Gyro HH/Rate (gyro 1 wire)
6-Collective Pitch

If you get confused just goto the programming menu and select the REVERSE menu. Everything is listed there.
