I'm flying the Futaba 149DP PCM and never a glitch or hit. Perfect weight for this machine in my opinion given it's power - especially with a 4S setup.

I've had excellent results with a Schulze 835W receiver. This Rx has glitch filtering that really works and a glitch counter so you can see how good or bad your set-up is. Unlike the Futaba micro PCM Rx it's a full range unit.

Heliplane, I have the exact same gear... if its a vibration issue the it's probably mechanical.. From what you're describing is that it is not a glitch.. I mounted the rx inside the rear portion of the helo antenna facing out, it's pretty hard to hook up wires after it's installed so do it before... I also mounted the esc to the front right side of the fuse and used a ferrite ring... I also used the spared channel slot to on the rx and grounded the black wire to the frame... without that ground i would get a glitch every 2 flights.

well thanx for the replies.....I'll try some of these out and get back with some results. I don't think it's a bent spindle because I've never had the blade hit but I'll check it out anyways. At this point I'm open for any possibilities. I'm starting to lean more towards it being the ESC or motor. I'm running a Warp 4 3 turn. Does anybody have any experience with these motors??

Darkmask, I'm curious on grounding to the frame. Where did you ground it to?? Did you just use an old servo extension?? Sounds like a pretty easy fix if it helps.

Best receiver for the TRex

I was experiencing some glitches and purchased/installed a "glitch-be-gone" from RCHover. It consists of three cermic RF chokes. The default installation calls for soldering them into the three BEC wires that run to the receiver, positioning them about a half inch from the ESC.

My TRex is configured with the battery up front; the receiver right above that in front of the servos. I mounted the receiver with velcro, which provides some isoltation from vibration. I removed the shrink wrap from the ESC (for cooling) and installed a thin band of shrink wrap to ensure the layers of the ESC stay put. I located the ESC inside the rear frame directly below the main drive gear fan. I also purchased a heat sink for the motor (every little bit helps!). The gyro is servo-taped to the top/rear of the frame on the flat spot just forward of the tail boom.

I opted to install the glitch-be-gone in a short servo extension so that I could easily experiment with and without it. Using a servo extension also allowed me to better position the three RF chokes. My BEC wire runs past the motor, so if I had soldered them a half inch from the ESC, I don't think I would have gotten the best performance out of the glitch-be-gone.

Since installing the glitch-be-gone I haven't detected a single glitch. I'm sure they still happen, but they're small and short enough that I haven't noticed them.

Hope this helps!

Yeah, I'm using a glitch be gone, and have never had a problem. Definately worth it.

The Schulze 835W receiver looks really nice, but its 35Mhz only.

yeah I used an old servo extention disconnected the black wire from servo end and screw it to the frame... i think i meshed it with a landing gear screw... or just use a spare and drill a hole in a convienient spot.

Well I think I finally found the problem. Thanx Shoo for suggesting the spindle because what it actually ended up being was the dampners. A guy that helped me set the heli up put three dampners in each side of the head to stiffen it up. Apparently this was causing it to bind and was the cause of my shakes. All I know is I put the spindle back to the stock configuration and the shakes are gone. Thanx again for all of the suggestions. I think I've got a pretty solid radio installation now too.

so my latest RX to play with is the Polk Seeker 6...it is a "full range" duel conversion RX that doesn't use crystals
Greg, what do you mean no crystals? Is this synthesized and can be set to any freq?

X

Someday, I might put a cute statement here.

Polk Synth Receiver / Futaba 9C Synth Radio

Has anyone tested the Polk Seeker 6 receiver with the Futaba TP-FSM synthesized module? I have the 9C Super radio with the synth receiver.

Thanks...
