I have been having probs with my YS not gov with the TJP. Now, I tried some things, its more noticable on the JK50. Now, I have tried a couple of thing befor I got hurt. The things I tried where:

Make sure the senor is working it was
Make sure the Gov is working, swapped.
Cal the TJP again, did

Here are some things I will try this weekend( no hurt anymore Surgey fixy Hurt).

First try recal the TJP in super servo mode and non -super servo mode.

Try moving in the sensor closer to the Engine/ closer to the crank shaft( the YS 50 is a little fatty).

Any other ideas?? Now the same set up work with out a hitch on my OS 50.

Any ideas, I could add to the list?

I dont want to hear , " I know what will fix your prob, go back to OS 50 and give me your YS 50."

You have not even stated what problem you are having,
that may be why nobody bothered to reply

What are the symptoms?

Do you mean it is not engaging from the start?

On the basics (I am sure you know them, but...)

1- Check that the red LED lights up when the sensor reads the magnet

2- Calibrate the TJ by:
- Setting the ATV on the gain channel to 100%
- Moving the throttle trim all the way down
- Flipping the gain control switch a couple of times at start up until the green led blinks rapidly
- Move the throttle stick full up and down a couple of times, leaving it at the bottom for normal servo, at the top for digital
- Flip the switch a couple of times to save
- Recycle power on the receiver

3- Set the target RPM. Set it low to start (35~40%) just to make sure it engages

4- Make sure the green LED stays on for all idle-up conditions and over 25% on the normal curve

During flight, in order for the TJ to engage:
1- The engine must be running
2- The green led must be on
3- The sensor must be working
4- Your throttle curve must take the engine rpm within 10% of the preset rpm
5- The rpm must be held close to the preset rpm for at least one second
6- TJ will take over until you turn it off.

I have used it in several different engines and brands with no issues. I can't see why with the YS would be different.

In my experience, these are the most common points why it will not work:
1- The green LED does not stay on throughout the whole throttle curve
2- No or faulty backup curves set which are incompatible with the preset rpm
3- Engine not broken in or set very rich or lean
4- Tuned pipe interfering with engine rpm

This was all from memory, so double-check the information with the manual.

I hope this helps.

Jack

If you are using a tuned pipe or semi-tuned pipe (I.E. MP2) the engine could be speeding up because of the pipe trying to get it in tune. The governor then sees the speed up and cuts throttle. The engine slows down and falls off tune, by which time rpm is really slow. The governor applies more throttle to speed up the rpm, the pipe tries to tune it, ....

If that is the case you will hear a wah-wah, mainly on climbouts. Turn the governor off in the middle of a climbout to see if the governor is fighting the pipe, in which case you could try to set different target rpms on the governor or change the pipe length.

In general, it is not a good idea to use a tuned pipe and a governor at the same time. You need to be very skilled and patient to have them both working on the same machine, IMO.

It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.

I had a TJ on my OS 50 and Muscle pipe combo,it would kick it self off at random. I replaced with a CSM revlock and it works perfect now.

If the TJP is modulating the throttle up/down then this occurs when the tuning is not correct...

I think I got it, Just tried the set-up as is. I think recaling it helped it. also replacing the sensor tape, and remounting the sensor helped. Did act a little funny twice? I think a little more tweaking, should be good to go.

Wow , I think the cool weather helped( 58deg) man this engine just came alive today. a lot of power, The climb out where aswome. I took it easy ( first time in four months and boy do I miss flying), Do not miss my OS 50. Thanks for the input guys
