For all of you that couldn't reply to the Wasp's thread either do to being on his ignore list or having to do with him closing the thread, please post here.

He (Jim) does pose an interesting question...why does Century always seem to have slightly better prices? Are they grey market products or not? How can we tell if they are.

I only tried to highlight the fact that certain people are allowed to post their endorsements, whilst other people get banned from doing so.
Since the Frustrated with RR policy thread, has been closed, I took what I thought to be the correct course of action, I hit the ATTN RR button, highlighted my concerns to Mark, he has responded to my query via a PM.
I am sorry if I highjacked any threads but would hate to think that any newcomer would read that thread and assume that century were the cheapest ( I do not wish to infer that they are or are not) as I feel the wasp was trying to imply.

Hope this clarifies my position on this matter

Well "Cheapest" is a relative term. You have more factors to look at: Selection, Time to your door, When you can order / Pickup, delivery fees, other fees, potential freebees if you deal direct (Heck, I was down in CA a few weeks ago, went into the Century shop and they threw in a 'free' T-Shirt when I bought some bling), patronage programs (Tower Hobbies has specials for members and reduced / free shipping), service, support, technical help.

If you are looking at the cheapest landed cost to your door you still have to factor in some of things around buying local. Remember when you didn't know your butt from a bellcrank? Well, the local hobbyshop probably helped out and that is worth something.

Got Money? Send it to me, I'm a Heli Addict.

Wasp

I know that "wasp" can be "over the top" sometimes when it comes to Century and HeliWorld. It bugs the crap out of me also. But there are also others here on RR that I find are equally so relative to other brands and other retail dealers. But I do not run around stalking any of them as some seem to do with Wasp.

So Jeff & Mark, I will expect you to also make similar type of complaining posts and reports to Mark whenever someone goes into the mainpage or other forums here on RR and pumps smoke up the perverbial of HeliProz, Thunder Tiger or other commercial interests.

Just my humble opinion
Albert

well I found them over priced tonight, not even looking hard. The ksj797 header tank is over $3.00 higher than everybody else.

Great, atleast Century does snoop around here, as the price was lowered on the ksj 3 oz header tank.

Now if your still watching , HOW ABOUT MY TRACKING NUMBER ?

You send me one single email after my order stating to get a tracking
number email sales or whatever, well I did TWICE. No response, so either my UPS package will arrive before the tracking number or B you have not sent my package yet in which case I'll be very displeased.

Is this common practice for Century? I've read much about how great their products are and how bad their customer service dept is...

It is not usual practice to respond to PM's regarding issues like this but rckrzy1 sent a PM through Runryder last night because he did not receive a timely response through the e-mail he sent to the shipping department at Century. He was sent a reply this morning to his PM with tracking information. We searched our records of whether an e-mail came from his e-mail address but did not find a record of ever receiving this request.

If a customer provides an e-mail address, the e-mail account is entered into the shipping system and UPS, DHL, or Endicia (US Post) will provide a tracking number through their system once the parcel is processed on their end.

Recently, it appears a lot of SPAM blocking is taking place with consumer e-mail services. If the customer's e-mail box is automatically blocking incoming mail, there is nothing we can do to send the reply or in the case of rckrzy1, there is nothing UPS, DHL, or USPS can do to get the e-mail through. This seems to be the case with rckrzy1's e-mail as his e-mail account is being served off one of the known automatic SPAM blocking e-mail accounts.

I checked my suspect email and blocked and found nothing from Heliworld. I get notices and tracking numbers from Ricks, Heliproz, Boca bearings and many others. And you stated you could find no record of RECIEVING my request which would point to YOUR ISP,
not mine.

Why are you discussing this on a forum that is created to discuss products?

If you must, here's the reasoning. The tracking numbers for UPS and DHL do not come from heli-world. They come direct from the shipping service. The only tracking numbers that come directly from heli-world are ones generated by Endicia software using USPS as it automatically creates an e-mail using the default e-mail client on the shipping system. Maybe it's UPS?

The statement about having no record of receiving your request for a tracking number was stated because of the fact that it was never received on our end. This is not linked to the statement about the shipping services not being able to get an e-mail through to you or any particular customer who has an e-mail account that is blocking suspect e-mails that they are considering SPAM.

If you did get an initial e-mail regarding your order, you should have been able to receive a response regarding a tracking number request. If we did actually receive an e-mail from you regarding a tracking number request, the e-mail would have been responded to. Have you ever though that maybe your ISP had trouble getting the e-mail to our ISP?

All of this over tracking #'s and such. Does anybody remember the days when you called, placed an order and waited patiently? Shipping was relatively the same costs for the time and service. Everybody just participated in the hobby instead of bitching constantly about the supply chain...........just wondering
