Yes I have.
1. Either sell Grandmother or become a professional male escort to the ladies,
this should raise cash for your purchase. (I had to do both).
2.Buy up all the paraffin from your local store, turbines are a little thirsty!
3.Never fly your turbine inside, as it makes a smell and the girlfriend will complain.
4.Follow Wren and Century’s instructions to the letter and you will not have to buy a thing (except batteries) everything is in the kit. My turbine came in kit form and it was very simple to build, as Wren’s instructions are excellent.
Century’s instructions are not excellent only good, but the heli IS excellent.
Put them together and you have a compact package that's an absolute missile at full chat, and yet really easy to fly and set-up.
I mean it's got to be the most docile helicopter that I've ever flown.
Infact I went out last night, heli and transmitter in hand, no flight case nothing else except a fire ex on my belt. I flicked a switch and off it went, fantastic! It's just like an electric hei, no messing about with starters. And there's enough gas onboard for 4-5 start-ups too.
I've been showing mine off to my friends, I just take it out on my Smart car pop it on the floor and fire it up. It really does amaze people at how is just sparks up and flies it truly is plug and play!
Can't think of anything else, it's so strait forward. All the best, Bell Bloke.

Hey,

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Get one, build it, fly it and have fun with it.
I will be the first to admit Century's instructions aren't the best in the world, but are still easy to follow and the finished machine is an excellent airframe suited to Turbine power as well as IC.

I still don't have it yet, but when I do I shall have a video of my example sturtting it's stuff at Jet Power two weeks ago.

Any questions feel free to ask, apart from myself there are a few other WREN / Predator owners around now and we're all willing to help where we can.

One more little tip, in all seriousness, be careful to get the tail thrust bearings in the correct order. I didn't and I had this annoying little tail wag, you could hardly notice it, and at first I put it down to bad wind, damn I knew I shouldn't have eaten those ballons! But then I realised it was really there, and after chasing my tail for a couple of days, Paul Heckles suggested that it could be the tail binding at high RPM, and do you know what, he was right. Many thanks Paul now it really is perfect!
So on the thrust bearings: bigger centre hole nearest the shaft, then the ball race, then the smaller centre hole nearest the tail blade holders, same as on the main blade holders.

Hey,

The Predator Turbine isn't on the Century UK web site as it is basically a seperate conversion, away from Century.

We are talking about including in on the site, but nothing has been done as yet.

Any information you would like please ask.

Tips on Pred Heli for Bladebender

Pred Airframe will need some upgrades if you are going to do some serious flying...
Stiffening to Wren frame conversion kit, or alternative frame upgrade kit, and other frame upgrades as carried out by RSPBLAKE (RR) and HAYABUSA (RR) would improve heli.
Or look at RCHeliWorld.co.uk for more Predator info...

Hey,

Link to video of Century / WREN Predator at Jet Power 2005 :

Century / WREN Predator @ Jet Power 2005

For the moment it's on my web space so if it goes down I will have to remove it.

Sorry if links like this are not allowed in the forum, I did have a quick look to see if it's ok.

Barry,
Are they going to be back by then? I was under the impression that, at least Sara and Roger were going to be gone for about three weeks.

Away for a week

We're only away for a week. Leaving tomorrow morning, returning the following Monday, back in the office on Tues 18th. The rest of the team will be working as usual, the phone will be answered but emails probably won't - they are usually left for me to do when I return. The guys may answer urgent mails, but if you need any help it's better to phone.
