I have a Evo 50 SWM with Hyper and MP2.

To start with i am running a low headspeed of 1550rpm and the heli hovers at +2 degree pitch and the manual states 4-5 degrees. Is this normal for the SWM version?
I have checked and rechecked the pitch with different guages.
It flies Ok but just wanted to check with other SWM users.

mine hovers at 5 degrees pitch, but i use a governor. mine runs 1850 headspeed. it's hard to keep the headspeed down with the hyper,we found a governor is the only way go,it keeps the overspeeding down which is hard to do without a governor.

My pitch curve is 0 at midstick,5 at 70% stick,71/2 at 85% stick and 10 at 100% stick, with matching curve in negative for lower half in stunt mode. I dont like a low headspeed like that,it makes the heli too mushy. i like to keep it about 1650 in normal.

What makes you think you hovering at 2 deg? I very much doubt it - as the head speed increases you can use less pitch, such a low head speed like that is going to need a decent amount of pitch at hover

Also, the OS50 is not very happy hovering without any load

Fully agree with the governor comments, get an OS50 tuned well and it can be hard to hold it below 2000 rpm on the head without a governor

I use normal mode 1700, idle1 1800 and idle 2 1900

The heli doesnt know if its a HPM or SWM model

+2deg sounds impossible.
I used a +-10deg pitch curve on my Sceadu3D (SWM) when I had it.

+2 degrees at 1550 RPM? I seriously doubt those numbers are correct. MrNoodles is correct, it does not matter that it's SWM. I have both an HPM and SWM EVO 50. Both hover at +5 @ 1850 RPM. 1550 is way, way too slow. Either your pitch guage is whacked, or your RPM figures are. It would probably take 3000 RPM to hover with only 2 degrees of pitch.

How do you know you are at 2 degrees in flight? Are you sure you are measuring with your stick in the correct position?
