Hey Bob, any chance those Revlock sensors will arrive before the weekend? I've got someone else bringing one along as backup...looks like I might need it

Hi.
So how did it go chaps? I did not feel like doing the 360 round trip for the sunday. one day soon things might change and release my Saturdays so i can get back onto Charnmouth..

So whats the word?
How did that 720 go bob, loved it hated it, gona marry it?

Do I take it from the smiles that Britflyer put means a heli met terra firma?

Yet, Britflyer was out for a duck - first flight!

Saturday was rained off from about 2ish, but Sunday was great weather - a tad windy but isn't it always.

I only got to play with it for a few mins as it looks like my 9251 servo failed but the little flying I did with it did leave me with a very positive impresion of the gyro so far.
It has a very nice feel to it, I am struggling to put it into words but some how it just gives you a feeling of confidence that the tail is very solid.
In short it just worked how it should do, what more do you want from a gyro:-)
At the moment I don't think the servo failing had anything to do with the gyro but just a unfortunate coincidence, I should get some more airtime on the gyro in the next day or two.

Cheers

Hi Bob.

thanks for the come back on the question. In the 720 thread a guy at my field sort of sumed it up that it seamed to hold the whole heli somehow.
Confidence is there big time and definitly better than the old gy601.
I have not used the 9251 with it, just the 8700g and that is brilliant.

I guess it is slightly possible that because the 720 made the servo work that bit harder to give you that impressive feel, that it pushed the servo over the edge and promoted the servo to fail?

Good job it did not cost a model. That would have been a real bummer..

Think a great weekend was had by all especially as the weather on Sunday was almost perfect.

Was lucky enough to get a few test flights with the new Curtis blades as well, very impressive.

Looking forward to the spring event already.

Charmouth is a bit of a treak for me and not sure I will make it next spring. Is there an MK Heli club flyin planned for the 24/25 June? Us suvoners don't get too many flyins that are "local"

Well Surrey isn't too far in normal circumstances, other than we're off on hols on Monday 3rd in the complete opposite direction, so it will entail shed loads of packing/repacking and with 2 young kids you know how much rubbish you need to pack as well as the helis...I need a van like yours Dave!

I know there are folks who travelled a darn sight further than I did - Midlands, Enfield etc but its a real squeeze when the family is in tow

I must get one of those r/c cars your boys had...my boy is 5 so I'd say he's about ready

Hi Dr Lodge
Yes there is a fly-in some time in June not to sure when, why the 24th,25th. The question I would like an answer to is do we have it Saturday or Sunday,

IIRC you had the flyin on 25th June last year, it sticks in my head as its my birthday I guess the preference is whichever day is gonna have the best weather but that's a tad impossible to plan. Sure it was a Saturday last time...what was the reception like?

BTW, you know that Freya canopy we were drawling over at Spring charmouth - it was green with a union jack? Well Ade Law was selling them off so I got myself one, sure beats the hell out of the scruffy plastic ones!!

The turn out was good but could have been better, some who didn't come said that they were working would have been better on Sunday. We will have a date in a couple of weeks but I would like to know off all out there who would be coming Sat or Sun for a fly-in

Cheers Paul

Finally got the courage and have now managed to get inverted (about bloody time)

I personally could make either day. I guess Sunday is the more traditional day ie the day put aside for one's hobby, a bit like playing a round of golf, and allows those working on Sat to attend.

Patriot.

For the likes of me, Sunday is the only day for flying.
many like me work the Saturday. A fair amount of others might have to do their "family duties" on a Saturday too.

Model shop owner types will always have the shop open on a saturday for sure. But most if not all shut on Sunday. So to get more of the dude trade types, Sunday might fair better.

Traditionally Flyins had always been on a Sunday since I remember with the odd one being a two day event like the old Retford and Charnmouth as it is today.

A few might not be able to make the Sunday, but my feeling is that the majority will be the other way round. Or like some, it is of no matter, they can adapt.. (lucky chaps).
