I have the HDS-877 on my 4s T-rex to... so I can't tell the different between mine and my friend T-rex with a Futaba 9650. Our tail both lock the same.... I had about 10 flight with it... maybe it will fail soon.... but untill then im not taking it off. Best tail servo I've ever spend on over 5 others servo.

As for the servo glitch when full throw to one side.... yes mine does that to, but I don't notice it in flight though.... I don't think it does that under load. You only need that much of pitch when u punch out and piro. Punch out... i haven't see any problem with it yet... and when you're piro so fast... why care if it glitch.... Cuz mine spin so fast i can't even count.

But I can move my tail 2mm side to side if i want it to. My tail lock just as good as my Logo10 with a Futaba 9253.

I won't complain when it only 25.00 and for the size and weight, this thing is amazing.

If i got $, I will run my T-rex on 10s lithium.

I use the 4 spoke servo arm, and I use the most innner hole, that should be arround 5mm. IMO, the best way to get your tail to work right is, to have less machanical gain, meaning use the most inner hole so it will have more torqe since these servo are way to fast, we need the torqe. Using the inner hole allow you to max out the limit, im running 90% limit on mine right now.

I use to run this servo on my gy240, it was good, tail is consider lock and fly great, but switch to a gy401 and turn on digi mode make a big different to... faster piro, instant tail lock after a piro, presision tail movement.

I was going to buy the futaba 9650, but looking at it size and weight discourage me, since my t-rex is already a flying pig, adding anther 20gram is a big problem... And because my friend bought the futaba, so I went and go head and bought this one so we can compare.

My friend said he will buy the hds-877 for his next T-rex, which will be the special edition.

If i got $, I will run my T-rex on 10s lithium.

thanks HF, I may have to try another one, I think my first one was/is a dud. It works but just not all that great. I've got it on the innermost hole, which I believe was about 7 mm or so. I even get the glitch/stutter when the servo is moved to the extreme, as mentioned above. I just don't see any difference between the DS and normal mode on the 401. and running the gain up and down makes little or no difference to this servo.

I recently moved it to a different heli and if the rain ever stops I'll give it another test. You're right, the price and weight are great compared to the 9650.

Make sure you have the delay turn down to 0, it a must. I have my gain arround 60% right now.

Yes, always use the inner holes,

If i got $, I will run my T-rex on 10s lithium.

Well the rain finally stopped and I'm now convinced my 877 servo is a dud, bad from the start. I tried it again today on a new 3 cell t-rex with a 401 gyro and it held the tail but not all that great. Used zero delay, digital mode and a variety of gain settings. Finally I took it off and reinstalled an old hs-56hb on the tail and the tail was MUCH better instantly. I'm sure this one just has some kind of internal problem. It's as tough the gain setting isn't high enough and can't be adjusted, the tail wants to drift a little, even in a flat hover. I think it might have been a little worse today than during its initial test a few days ago.

Maybe there's a bad batch of them floating around, some people love them, other can't get them to work at all; mine is somewhere in between.
